Omicron, found in Europe before South Africa, jolts markets on vax fears
The financial markets and oil prices fell sharply on Tuesday after the head of drugmaker Moderna said existing Covid-19 vaccines would be less effective against the new Omicron variant. They were in the red despite reassuring comments from European officials and top executives of other vaccine makers who said all of the people infected are asymptomatic or showing only mild symptoms.
Oxford University, too, said there’s no evidence that the new omicron variant defeats the vaccine it developed with AstraZeneca, contrasting with more pessimistic views put forward by some other shot makers like Moderna and Regeneron.
BioNTech SE Chief Executive Officer Ugur Sahin said the current generation of Covid-19 vaccines probably will still protect against severe disease in people infected by the omicron variant. He suggested though the rate of infections may increase, symptoms will be mild.

European Medicines Agency (EMA) Executive Director Emer Cooke told the European Parliament that existing vaccines will continue to provide protection. Andrea Ammon, chair of the European Centre for Disease prevention and Control (ECDC), said the cases of Omicron so far confirmed in 10 European Union countries were mild or without symptoms, although in younger age groups.

Major European stock markets, spooked by fears that vaccine resistance might trigger restrictions that would choke off a nascent recovery, were down nearly 0.5 per cent, having fallen as much as 1.5 per cent in early trade. In New York, Dow Jones and the S&P 500 opened in the red.
“There is no world, I think, where (the effectiveness) is the same level we had with Delta,” Moderna CEO Stephane Bancel told the Financial Times. “I think it's going to be a material drop. I just don't know how much because we need to wait for the data.
But all the scientists I've talked to are like 'this is not going to be good'.”

Bank of England policymaker Catherine Mann added to downbeat comments from US Fed Chairman Jerome Powell by saying Omicron could hit consumer confidence, which would not only weaken the British economy’s recovery but could also could push up inflation at the same time.

World Council for Health Statement on Omicron (B.1.1.529)
World Council for Health (WCH) stands in opposition to the widespread scaremongering as a result of the discovery of the B.1.1.529 (Omicron) SARS-CoV-2 variant. According to available evidence, the variant is not of more concern than any others.
WCH recognizes that all viruses mutate and that natural immunity offers better protection against viral mutations than the Covid-19 inoculations.
We caution against the reinstatement of lockdowns and other unnecessary measures that have not been proven to slow the spread of the virus. These measures have been shown to cause undue harm.
WCH urges global leaders to listen to healthcare officials in Africa including Virologist Barry Schoub, the head of South African’s Ministerial Advisory Committee on Covid-19 vaccines, and Joe Phaahla, South African Health Minister.
Dr. Schoub has saidit is “unlikely that it’s going to cause more severe disease.” Phaahla has called travel bans on those coming from eight African countries a “knee-jerk reaction” that “doesn’t make sense.”
Earlier this month, the African continent was being celebrated for being “one of the least affected regions in the world,” according to the World Health Organization, despite fewer than 6% of the population being vaccinated.
It should also be noted that the initial four cases of Omicron to be discussed in the media were in vaccinated people in Botswana, where only 20% of the population is fully vaccinated.
WCH stands with African nations and recognizes their ability to determine what is best for their people. WCH does not believe that these nations are in need of “rescue” by Western nations eager to vaccinate and firmly stands against any and all travel bans.
As vaccine manufacturers scramble to create a new vaccine for this variant, Would Council for Health reminds the WHO, the FDA, the MHRA, and other regulatory agencies that safe vaccine development takes around 10 years. Further novel vaccine products developed in haste by Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca, or any other drug manufacturer will not be acceptable to the people of Africa or the people of the world.

The latest strain of the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) that they are calling the “Omicron” variant appears to only affect people who are “fully vaccinated.”
First identified in Botswana (supposedly), Omicron arrived just in time for the big Black Friday stock market rumble. You might even say that Omicron is the cover story for the impending economic meltdown.
Anyway, the world is unlikely to hear much about anything else besides Omicron in the coming days – except, of course, for the fact that it does not appear to be affecting the unvaccinated.
According to the president of Botswana, all four patients who were identified as having Omicron were previously vaccinated for the earlier strains of the Fauci Flu.
“The Presidential COVID-19 Task Force informs the public that four (4) cases of a new COVID-19 variant now known as B.1.1.529 were reported and recorded on Monday 22nd November 2021,” an official media release explains.
“The four (4) cases were detected among travellers who tested SARS-CoV-2 positive on routine pre travel testing. The variant tests were carried out as part of the routine genomic surveillance of SARS-CoV-2 as prescribed in our COVID-19 response plan.”
The letter does not explain how the fraudulent PCR tests were miraculously tuned to pick up the so-called Omicron variant, but whatever.
It was revealed, however, that all four patients had gotten their injections in obedience to Tony Fauci and Bill Gates, and that further investigation is taking place to see if anyone else around these four individuals also “caught” the new strain.
Don’t let anyone try to tell you that Omicron came about because of the unvaccinated
To get out ahead of the expected propaganda aimed at “anti-vaxxers,” it cannot be stressed enough that Omicron has not yet been detected in an unvaccinated person.
This is important to keep in mind because we are sure to start hearing all over the news about how none of this would be happening if everyone had just rolled up their sleeves and obeyed Joe Biden and the other politicians who are pushing these injections on the masses.
Truth be told, there would not even be an Omicron variant (assuming it really does exist) if the “vaccines” had never been introduced in the first place. The plandemic would also already be long over.
As many have been warning for months, introducing vaccines right in the middle of an alleged “pandemic” only makes things worse by fueling the spread of “super mutations,” which is apparently now happening.
If only “science” had left things alone and let this thing run its natural course, life could have returned back to normal. Instead, the know-it-alls who are in love with chemical injections insisted upon inserting experimental drugs into people’s bodies, not really knowing what the end result would be.
At this stage in the game, officials are claiming that Omicron is now the most “heavily mutated variant” of the Chinese Flu, containing 32 mutations in the spike protein and 50 overall.”

Scientists say it will take weeks to unearth how dangerous the new variant is. But we do know that Omicron has been found in Europe, with cases of community transmission identified in earlier COVID-19 samples before the travel bans came into place.
Dutch health officials said Tuesday that Omicron was present in the Netherlands a week before two flights arrived from South Africa carrying the virus. At least one of the cases is thought to have been contracted in the Netherlands, RIVM virologist Chantal Reusken told national broadcaster NOS.
Nine cases of Omicron were linked to a private event on November 20 in Scotland, days before South Africa announced the existence of the variant. First Minister Nicola Sturgeon told Scottish Parliament Tuesday that none of the individuals had a recent travel history or known links to others who had traveled from southern Africa.
These cases have prompted some to question the need for the cascading travel restrictions, which has triggered a wave of resentment on the African continent.

The scientific response to variants / mutations would be to stop the jabs completely. The vaccinated en masse are creating the variants is basic medical science. A doctorate is not required to understand the necessity to implement the solution to variants. Cease the jabs.

Germany Detects Four Cases of Omicron in the Fully Vaccinated
“Four people in southern Germany have tested positive for the Omicron COVID-19 variant even though they were fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, the public health office in the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg said.”
“Three of the infected people returned from a business trip to South Africa on Nov. 26 and Nov. 27 respectively, and the fourth person is a family member of one of the returnees. All four showed moderate symptoms.”
Meanwhile, Germany also recorded its highest COVID death toll for 9 months, despite having mask mandates and stringent rules in many regions that banned the unvaccinated from numerous venues.
446 deaths recorded is the highest figure since February 18th as hospitals warned there could be 6,000 people in intensive care by Christmas, which would be more than last winter.
The solution, as ever, is to impose yet more draconian restrictions, with the closure of bars, stadiums and other venues now on the table.
Germany will also vote on following Austria in making the vaccine mandatory and imposing large fines and prison sentences on those who refuse.
Meanwhile, an Israeli doctor revealed that he had been infected with Omicron despite being triple vaccinated also wearing a mask.
Still, I guess the 10th booster shot might do something to stop it.

JERUSALEM, Nov 29 (Reuters) - Rights groups petitioned Israel's top court on Monday to repeal new COVID-19 measures that authorise the country's domestic intelligence service to use counter-terrorism phone tracking technology to contain the spread of the Omicron virus variant.
Announcing the emergency measures on Saturday, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said the phone tracking would be used to locate carriers of the new and potentially more contagious variant in order to curb its transmission to others.
Israeli rights groups say the emergency measures violate previous Supreme Court rulings over such surveillance, used on-and-off by the country's Shin Bet domestic intelligence agency since March, 2020.
"Operation of the Secret Service to trace citizens violates the basic trust between the citizen and the government," the Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI), one of four groups who petitioned the court, said in a statement.
The Supreme Court gave the government until Tuesday to respond to the petition, ACRI said.

Following decisions by the UK Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation and the UK Chief Medical Officers to change the vaccination protocol in the UK, the Director of Public Health, Dr Helen Carter, has recommended changes to the vaccination programme in Gibraltar. The Government says that these changes are based on new evidence about vaccine safety and efficacy and also in response to the Omicron variant, as advised by the World Health Organisation
With effect from today the following changes will be introduced:
All people in Gibraltar aged 16 and over will now be offered a booster dose. Booster doses can now be given from three months after the second dose of vaccine.
Minister of Health and Care, Samantha Sacramento, said, “We are very grateful to the UK Government for continuing to supply Gibraltar with all the vaccine we need to help our fight against COVID-19. As a result of the on-going support from the UK there are currently over 15,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine in our ultra-low temperature freezers here in Gibraltar. This means we can immediately respond to the changes to the advice about vaccination to respond to the Omicron variant. The vaccination team are increasing both the number of vaccinators and opening hours of the clinic to get vaccine into people’s arms as soon as possible.”
Dr Helen Carter said, “The UK Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation has carefully considered the latest evidence both about the safety of the COVID-19 vaccine and also the potential impact of the Omicron variant of COVID-19. I have now considered their recommendations and advised the government here in Gibraltar that we should extend the scope of the vaccination programme by offering a booster dose to everyone aged over 16, at least three months after their second dose. I have also reviewed the safety data locally to determine whether to offer 12-15 year old a second dose of the vaccine and can confirm that these doses will be available in the New Year. However, these second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine will be administered no less than three months after the first dose for this age group. I would encourage young people and their families to read the information that we’ve updated in light of this offer of a second dose for this age group”.

Somehow we're being told, in otherwise hushed tones, that the omicron variant of the original virus that causes COVID-19 (read China-Fauci flu) "may have picked up genetic material from another virus that causes the common cold," the Washington Post reported Saturday.
According to the authors of a new preliminary study, the variant's similarity to the common-cold virus is why omicron may have a much greater transmissibility rate.
The blessing is, while omicron is easier to catch, it seems to be a snap to get rid of – or so it seems they're telling us now. But who knows what they'll be telling us tomorrow?

A variety of reports suggest that the new Omicron variant is a notably milder than the original Covid virus. So much so that the South African doctor who first diagnosed the variant, Dr Angelique Coetzee, who is also the chair of the South African Medical Association, expressed shock at the international reaction to its appearance.
“I have seen a lot over my medical career,” she told the Daily Wire. “But nothing has prepared me for the extraordinary global reaction that met my announcement this week that I had seen a young man in my surgery who had a case of Covid that turned out to be the Omicron variant.”
According to Dr. Coetzee, the symptoms of the new variant are “unusual but mild” and the following report tends to underline this. So why do the media and governments appear to be trying to stoke public anxiety over this new variant?
After all, in the normal course of events a new virus appears and then over time becomes milder as people develop the antibodies to cope with it. This maybe what is happening with Covid-19. So why the ongoing lockdowns and alarm over this new variant?
Or are the powers that be simply trying to panic the public into getting vaccinated? After all, the vaccine don’t provide total immunity from the original virus, so why the ongoing global campaign to promote vaccination?

None of the 100-plus partygoers who caught Omicron at a Norwegian Christmas party believed to be the world’s biggest coronavirus super-spreader event have fallen seriously unwell.
Doctors involved in tracing the outbreak say the infected are so far only suffering very mild symptoms like fevers, coughs, headaches and tiredness following the festive do on November 26.
Some 120 people who attended the Louise Restaurant and Bar in Oslo have tested positive for Covid, all of which are suspected to be Omicron but only 13 have been confirmed in a lab.
Seventy of the infected were employees of solar power company Scatec, who were celebrating their Christmas work night out, while the remaining 50 were other guests at the restaurant. The party was held in a closed room but guests reportedly mingled with other people in the restaurant after 10:30pm, when it turned into a nightclub.
‘Patient zero’ is thought to be a Scatec staffer who had recently returned from the company’s head office in Cape Town, where the variant is already dominant nationally. They tested positive the day after the party. At least one other employee had also recently returned from a trip to South Africa.
The Oslo outbreak made international headlines and was the first warning sign to Europe that the highly-evolved variant was viciously virulent and could outpace Delta on the continent.
But Dr Tine Ravlo, a public health expert in the Norwegian capital involved in tracking the outbreak, said that so far ‘none have become severely ill and none of them have been treated in hospital’.
The development lends weight to the theory that Omicron might be weaker than past variants, and is consistent with reports from doctors in ground zero of the outbreak in South Africa.
Norway’s state epidemiologist, Frode Forland, told The Telegraph that if this turns out to be true, it could signal the beginning of the end of the pandemic.
‘That is the hope. That is the best scenario we can have,’ he said. ‘That it’s getting minder, most people will get it, and they will get a natural immunity.’
Scientists have long predicted the coronavirus is unlikely to ever be eradicated but will instead transition into a milder cold-like virus as the world develops stronger immunity.

The Gibraltar Government has announced it is 'highly likely' the first case of the new Omicron variant of Covid-19 has been detected in Gibraltar, but added this will take a further 24 to 48 hours to confirm.
The Contact Tracing Bureau will be advising all close contacts of this case that they will need to self isolate for 10 days, regardless of vaccination status.

Thirteen cases of the Omicron variant have been detected on the Rock, the Gibraltar Government said on Tuesday, as it warned the new strain of Covid-19 is now “spreading throughout our community”.
No.6 Convent Place again urged people to exercise caution and take up the offer of a booster vaccine as the best option for individual and community protection from the worst effects of the virus.
“It is now clear that the Omicron variant is spreading throughout our community,” said Chief Minister Fabian Picardo.

There are no plans as yet for Gibraltar to follow the UK's change to regulations which allows close contacts of Omicron cases to take lateral flow tests instead of isolating. This has been confirmed to GBC by the Director of Public Health.
236 active COVID cases have currently been confirmed in Gibraltar, 14 of which have been determined to be Omicron. There are two cases in the COVID Ward, and one in the CCU. Over 24,300 people have had their booster shots.
The changes were announced by Health Secretary Sajid Javid on Monday. Previously, close contacts of Omicron positive cases had to isolate for ten days regardless of vaccination status.
In answers to questions from GBC, the Director of Public Health said Gibraltar's epidemiology continues to be reviewed on a daily basis.
Dr Helen Carter said the approach at the moment is underpinned by data, enhanced surveillance and epidemiology, and that the aim is to buy more time to get booster vaccinations into the population.
She said early evidence regarding the effectiveness of the vaccine to protect against severe disease from three doses of the Pfizer vaccine looks promising against the Omicron variant, and reiterated it was important to get the booster as soon as possible.
