Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, will pay Virginia Roberts Giuffre more than £12 million ($16.3 million) following an out-of-court settlement using money from the Queen, The Telegraph reported on Wednesday.
The settlement, which was announced on Tuesday, means the 61-year-old will no longer face trial over allegations that he sexually abused and raped Giuffre on three separate occasions when she was 17. Neither side can discuss the case or settlement in public.
However, it is understood that Giuffre and her charity will receive a figure in excess of £12 million, according to the newspaper.
Queen Elizabeth II, who has already privately funded the Duke’s legal fight, has agreed to partly fund the settlement in an effort to draw a line under the allegations which have caused untold damage to the Prince’s reputation, The Telegraph reported.
The monarch’s contribution will reportedly come from her private Duchy of Lancaster estate. Income from the estate increased to more than £23 million ($31.2 million) in 2020, accounts show.
Prince Andrew’s personal wealth has long been the subject of much speculation; he currently receives a modest navy pension and an annual £250,000 ($338,775) stipend from the Queen.
The Prince is in the process of selling his only known asset, the Verbier ski chalet he bought with his ex-wife in 2014. The chalet is worth some £17 million ($23 million).
The Duke of York was stripped of all military titles and patronages by the Queen in January and no longer uses the HRH title. In effect, he is not a working member of the royal family.
He had intended to fight the legal battle in the US over his alleged sexual relationship with Giuffre when she was just 17, and his connection to deceased financier and sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.
Prince Andrew has always denied the allegations and insists he had no recollection of meeting Giuffre.
Six months and six days after Virginia Giuffre filed suit against British royal Prince Andrew, alleging that he had sexually assaulted her while she was a minor, the lawsuit has been settled out of court, for an undisclosed sum.
Andrew will make a “substantial donation” to Giuffre’s victims’ rights charity and appears to admit no wrongdoing. He does express regret for his association with former pal Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced financier in whose homes Giuffre alleged she had been sexually abused.
No mention of Epstein’s former girlfriend and co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell, whose London home was the site of one of the alleged incidents of abuse.
The lawsuit’s speedy conclusion leaves more questions than it answers. Andrew had consistently denied Giuffre’s accusations, most notably in a disastrous BBC interview in which he claimed, among other things, that a medical condition rendered him unable to sweat. Giuffre had intended to force Andrew to turn over evidence supporting his medical condition, but, alas, it will remain a mystery.
And what of the provenance of the famous photograph featuring Giuffre, Maxwell and Andrew? The British prince said he had no recollection of the photo and left open the possibility that the photograph was a fake.
A month after his ouster from royal life, Britain’s Prince Andrew agreed Tuesday to settle a New York civil lawsuit over allegations that he sexually abused a teenage girl trafficked by the late financier Jeffrey Epstein.
David Boies, the high-profile attorney representing Prince Andrew’s accuser Virginia Giuffre, wrote in a letter this morning to U.S. District Lewis Kaplan “that the parties reached a settlement in principle.”
The sum of the out-of-court settlement will be not disclosed, Boies wrote.
Giuffre sued the Duke of York in August 2021, claiming that he abused her on multiple occasions in 2001 when she was a 17-year-old victim of the sex trafficking ring Epstein ran for decades with the help of his former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell.
Epstein famously died in jail ahead of a federal trial on related charges, but Maxwell was convicted late last month.
Giuffre asserted that she met Andrew while she traveled frequently with Epstein between 2000 and 2002, when her lawyers maintain she was “on call for Epstein for sexual purposes” and was “lent out to other powerful men,” including Prince Andrew.
Her complaint included a widely circulated photograph of Giuffre as a teenager, posing with Andrew at Maxwell’s London home, that she says was taken prior to nonconsensual sex with the prince, who has arm around her waist in the photograph.
The 61-year-old Duke of York himself has strenuously denied Giuffre’s allegations.
While the letter announcing the settlement purports to be written “jointly,” it was signed only by Giuffre’s attorney.
The embattled 61-year-old royal, whose full name is Andrew Albert Christian Edward, was formally stripped of his honorary military roles and what are known as his royal patronages in the wake of the Judge Kaplan’s decision earlier in January to advance Giuffre’s case to. This came after Andrew had already stepped back from royal duties.
In a statement attached to Boies’ letter, representatives for Prince Andrew said he “pledges to demonstrate his regret for his association with Epstein by supporting the fight against the evils of sex trafficking, and by supporting its victims.”
The attached statement further asserts that Prince Andrew “never intended to malign Ms. Giuffre’s character, and he accepts that she has suffered both as an established victim of abuse and as a result of unfair public attacks”
“Prince Andrew intends to make a substantial donation to Ms. Giuffre’s charity in support of victims’ rights,” the letter states. “It is known that Jeffrey Epstein trafficked countless young girls over many years. Prince Andrew regrets his association with Epstein, and commends the bravery of Ms. Giuffre and other survivors in standing up for themselves and others.”
Prince Andrew, who is now living in the Royal Lodge at Windsor Great Park in Berkshire, England, told the BBC in 2019 that he had no recollection of meeting Giuffre. Though he later said he would cooperate with U.S. authorities investigating Epstein, Geoffrey Berman, the former U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, said Prince Andrew had provided “zero cooperation.”
Giuffre says Epstein recruited her into his sex-trafficking operation when she was working at the Mar-A-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Florida.
Her lawsuit said she still suffers significant emotional and psychological distress and harm.
She says that Prince Andrew’s sexual abuse occurred in Epstein’s New York mansion and on Epstein’s private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands, as well as in London at the home of Maxwell, who will be sentenced in June after being found guilty in December 2021 on five federal charges in connection with recruiting underage girls for abuse by Epstein.
Giuffre has been entangled for years in a separate civil defamation battle in the Southern District of New York with Alan Dershowitz, the Harvard law professor emeritus. She settled a defamation suit against Maxwell in 2017 and did not testify at Maxwell’s recent criminal trial in the district.
Last month, Maxwell’s attorneys filed a motion for a retrial of her criminal sex trafficking case because a juror in her monthlong trial told media outlets that he had not disclosed his personal history of sexual abuse during the jury selection process.

In decent families people stick by one another when they’re in trouble – especially when they haven’t actually been found guilty of anything other, perhaps, than naivety, a little arrogance and some stupidity. (Making that BBC programme exhibited all three.)
But the queen, Charlie the Chump and Wet Willie have shown their true colours by throwing Randy Andy to the wolves.
Andrew has not yet been convicted of anything. And far as I know he’s at the butt end of a civil charge –not a criminal charge.
I can’t stand him.
Or any of the wretched royals – who have, I believe, betrayed us all by promoting toxic, experimental jabs and pushing the pseudoscientific climate change lie.
But it’s entertaining and educational to see how the royal family’s instinct is to protect themselves.
It is, after all, just what they do all the time.
They’re dumping Andrew to save themselves.
But we shouldn’t be surprised.
After all, they’ve betrayed us all.

My first exposure to a fractured mind was when I read the book "Sybil". She at times has been described as being a possessed woman, but after reading the book (and it is a true story) one gets to see what really happened to her. Because it is written by the psychiatrist that treated her, a clear/concise portrayal of what "fractured" and multiple personality really means is provided in detail making it that much more enlightening (though disturbing) to read. Even worse, such practices have been used by govt/military operations aka MKUltra. It is mindboggling what has been going on and right under our noses!
Ghislaine Maxwell To Be Sentenced Today As More Accusers Get Last Word

Jeffrey Epstein 'Madam' and partner in crime, Ghislaine Maxwell, is set to be sentenced today after being found guilty of participating in a decade-long scheme to lure and groom underage girls for sexual exploitation by Epstein and his associates - at times participating in the abuse herself, according to Bloomberg.
The 60-year-old former socialite, who was arrested two years ago at a New Hampshire hideaway, was convicted in December in what accusers have called long-overdue justice for Epstein's victims.
Prosecutors have recommended 30 to 55 years behind bars - likely a life sentence, while Maxwell has asked for less than six years - arguing that she and her siblings were mentally and physically abused by their father, UK publishing tycoon and suspected Israeli spy, Robert Maxwell. She also argued that she shouldn't bear the brunt of the punishment for Epstein's crimes, since he's dead.
Several victims who weren't part of Maxwell's trial will be allowed to speak during Tuesday's sentencing in a Manhattan courtroom in front of US Circuit Judge Alison Nathan. Maxwell will also be afforded the opportunity to speak, should she so choose.
One of the victims expected to appear is Virginia Giuffre, who accused Prince Andrew of sexually abusing her. Giuffre and Andrew reached a settlement in a civil suit earlier this year, after she claimed Epstein "lent" her out for sexual abuse, a claim Andrew has denied.
"She made the choice to conspire with Epstein for years, working as partners in crime and causing devastating harm to vulnerable victims," argued prosecutor Maurene Comey in the government's sentencing memo. "She should be held accountable for her disturbing role in an extensive child exploitation scheme."
According to former UBS AG banker Justin Paperny, who served 18 months for securities fraud, Maxwell's arguments for leniency will likely fall on deaf ears, especially with several accusers testifying on Tuesday.
"The first thing judges want to know if you plead guilty is if you identify with your victims," he said, adding "In this case, Maxwell said ‘Yeah, there are victims but I didn’t create it. I didn’t do anything wrong. It’s just because I was friends with Epstein. If anything, I’m the victim,’” Paperny said. That attitude “doesn’t sit well with a sentencing judge when there are victims whose lives have been torn and ripped apart by her pedophile friend."
British socialite turned-convicted sex-trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell finally got her due Tuesday when she was sentenced to 20 years in prison for her role in helping rich-and-powerful pedophile Jeffrey Epstein abuse young girls.
US District Judge Alison Nathan said the sentence of 240 months was “sufficient and not greater than necessary,” for Maxwell, who earlier addressed the court and told victims in a half-hearted apology, “I am sorry for the pain that you experienced.”
As she finally learned her fate, the 60-year-old predator’s face remained inscrutable, and she briefly hugged her attorney before leaving the courtroom, wearing blue jail scrubs, her dark brown locks cut in a bob and her ankles in shackles. She did not speak to her siblings, who were seated in the row behind her.
“The number of people harmed is impossible to measure,” victim Annie Farmer, who testified at trial, told the court during Tuesday’s hearing, as Maxwell’s shoulders tensed.
The Epstein madam tried to avoid looking at her victims as they spoke, but did lock eyes with Sarah Ransome when her victim told her, “You broke me in unfathomable ways. But you didn’t break my spirit nor did you dampen my internal flame that now burns brighter than ever before.”
Ransome broke down in tears as she described how she attempted to escape from Epstein’s private sex island by trying to “jump off a cliff into shark-infested waters” and said she had twice attempted suicide.
“Like Hotel California, you could check into the Epstein-Maxwell dungeon of sexual hell, but you could never leave,” she said. “I frequently experience flashbacks and wake up in a cold sweat from nightmares reliving the awful experience.”
“‘I am sorry’ doesn’t cut it,” Ransome told reporters after justice was meted out. “I wish she was sorry when she was forcing me into a room to be raped. That’s when I wish she was sorry.”
Prosecutors had asked Nathan to slap Maxwell with at least 30 and up to 55 years in prison, so that her punishment “sends a message that those who conspire with sexual predators will be held responsible for their significant role in these crimes.”
Maxwell’s defense attorneys, meanwhile, had begged for leniency, saying she should get no more than four to five years, while probation officials recommended 20.
Following the relatively light twenty year sentence Ghislaine Maxwell has received for sex trafficking underage girls for Jeffrey Epstein, prosecutors representing the victims have said that the ‘next target’ should be British Royal Prince Andrew.
The lawyers acting on behalf of those alleging abuse requested that the FBI continue investigating the Epstein case and look harder at Andrew and other individuals accused by the victims.
“Let’s hope they’re the next target,” Attorney Brad Edwards told reporters.
Ghislaine Maxwell To Be Killed Early On Good Behavior
Ghislaine Maxwell, former co-conspirator of sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for her crimes, but the judge did express it was likely she would be killed early on good behavior.
"Ms. Maxwell, I hereby sentence you to a devastating 20 years for your crimes," said U.S. District Judge Alison Nathan. "But if you maintain good behavior you'll be suicided in a week."
"I can give you more names!" she cried out in an uncharacteristic outburst.
Judge Nathan ordered the bailiff to restrain the prisoner and keep her quiet for disrupting the courtroom. He proceeded to admonish Maxwell for offering to name the celebrities and politicians she had been selling minors to for years.
Witnesses at the hearing claim Maxwell looked "deathly ill" following the exchange and muttered something about being a CIA plant.
She was roughly escorted out of the courtroom by prison guard H. Illroy Climpton.

has become best friends with infamous double killer Narcy Novack as they languish in a Florida prison together, reports say.
The pair are reported to have spent long hours talking, laughing and joking around in the low-security FCI Tallahassee.
Their similar ages - Maxwell being 60 and Novack, 65 - as well as their wealthy backgrounds and long sentences is said to have cemented their bond.
Maxwell was sent to the prison late last month after being sentenced to 20 years for helping billionaire sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein abuse underage girls.
Novack was jailed in 2012, having been convicted of orchestrating the beating deaths of her millionaire husband and mother-in-law.

Maxwell is required to wear khaki clothes at FCI Tallahassee, and she will be woken up at 5am every day for breakfast at 6am
Maxwell, who once lived a lavish lifestyle and counted Prince Andrew and Bill Clinton among her friends, earns the paltry sum of between 15 to 27 cents an hour at FCI Tallahassee.
Prison consultants said that Maxwell will clean toilets, bathrooms or wash dishes before being assigned a long term job like managing payroll or reading water meters.
Both Maxwell and Novack's day begin at 5am when the lights come on. Breakfast is served at 6am and lunch at 10.30am – the early time is to enable to kitchen to feed the whole population.
Maxwell was convicted after a trial last almost a month last December in which her victims testified that she lured them to Epstein when they were as young as 14 years old.
