Yes, it is interesting. There was a short video (if I come across it again, I'll share it) showing an oceanfront house singled out as remaining totally intact whilst all other structures around it were burnt to a crisp. The house was painted BLUE.
What the MSM won't tell you is why this house was left intact while a fire was raging all around

The burn zone on Maui is laden with toxins, officials say
State and local officials have warned that the burn area on Maui is laden with distinct and potent toxic contaminants from incinerated buildings, vehicles and infrastructure.
SPITZER: There's a really big concern about asbestos and lead because much of Lahaina was built more than 50 years ago, before we stopped using that stuff in our buildings. And there are more nasty chemicals in the smoke from these urban wildfires. I spoke with Amara Holder with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and she's done research into what's in the smoke from urban wildfires versus some that mostly burn trees.
AMARA HOLDER: We expect to see much higher amounts of compounds like chlorine and nitrogen and metals like lead and arsenic and cadmium. We would expect greater amounts of gases like hydrogen chloride or hydrogen cyanide to be emitted from these types of fires than you would see from a regular old forest fire.
Thank-you. Amazing.
Thank you.
The grand-daughter of the man who built that house did comment, and her comments were published by the San Francisco Chronicle and New York Post and others, saying that it was built with very thick concrete, unlike most other houses in Lahaina:
âHe built the house out of cement because of the bugs and dry rot in Hawaii,â she said. âIâm sure it survived because of his knowledge and his construction skills.â
Tamura recalled that the interior of the house was drywall and âlooked like every other houseâ but the walls were so thick that you had to go outside to hear the roar of the ocean. Architecturally, the thick concrete walls seemed out of place amid the 19th century wood that she mostly remembers of Lahaina.
https://www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/article/maui-fires-lahaina-hawaii-houses-photo-18295518.php
Tamura, 67, told the San Francisco Chronicle that the house was built by her grandfather, who worked at a nearby sugar mill, with the exact purpose of enduring anything so he could enjoy his retirement in the 1950s.
She noted that the concrete walls in the home are so thick, they could even drown out the sounds of the roaring ocean outside.
While Tamura admitted that her familyâs home always appeared out of place given that houses in the city were primarily made of wood, she says her family is now thankful for her grandfatherâs foresight.
Concrete, brick and stone appear to be among the key factors for homes to survive such devastating fires, which was previously seen in the 2018 Camp Fire, which was the deadliest blaze in more than 100 years until Maui.
House surrounded by burned-down homes survives Maui wildfires
Reading this makes me think it would be sad if someone went and somehow destroyed the house that a person devoted a lot of time and energy to, to have endurance, because they've come to believe insinuations that the owner might for instance be a member of the elite and his house does not deserve to stand when so many others were destroyed.
There are several houses along the waterfront of Lahaina that did not get burnt while houses beside them did, not just the one. The majority of these look to be painted white.
This is a very good 4K drone vid to watch to get a better detailed view of Lahaina after the fire, where the above can be seen, and many burnt trees can be seen. I strongly recommend it:
If interested in just the oceanfront, to save time the best place to start is @6:15 when the drone begins backing out to sea, and then flies from right to left slowly taking in the whole oceanfront of Lahaina.
There's definitely an amazing amount of destruction. Firefighters often say one of the things they fear most is the winds, in relation to fire. The winds got very strong. And downward pressure, which pushed wind down the hillside, was also a big factor - as that has the effect of feeding the fire even more horizontally instead of the more accustomed sight of flames lapping (mostly) upwards/vertically or diagonally. Flying embers can also reach more (horizontal) distance more quickly this way, before burning out, or finding a fuel source to successfully ignite.
@Danrock ,
Thank-you. Interesting.
Very informative video. Seen the other white houses left standing. Perhaps they had heat retardant, flame proof paint applied.
Will relay this information on to a resident asking it be passed along to hopefully help others realize why this house still stands.
Thank-you.
You're welcome.
Perhaps, yes. Maybe we'll eventually come to hear from the other owners about it.
Thank you. That would be a nice thing, if you feel they'd benefit.

The West Maui disaster is becoming less about the fire and more about the governmentâs bizarre response to the aftermath. Independent media sources and some mainstream media sources have confirmed multiple instances of the Democrat controlled governmentâs mismanagement that led to the escalation of the tragedy. The circus included a woke water management bureaucrat who believes water is âgodlikeâ and that it must be distributed according to the rules of âequity; the same official withheld vital firefighting resources for a day while Maui burned. The state government has been thoroughly embarrassed, but instead of responding with humility, they have doubled down and gone on the attack.
The Governor of Hawaii, Josh Green, took a wild swing at independent reporting, telling people not to listen to information from social media and âinfluencers.â Itâs hard to say what his definition of an âinfluencerâ is, only that he is clearly hostile to anyone reporting news outside of the government narrative. Greenâs disapproval of media reporting is not limited to alternative journalists, however. It appears that there is now an information blackout being instituted by the state. Corporate journalists are also being denied access to the area of the fire damage path as well as access to any details surrounding the investigation into how the fires may have started.

WOW.
This is the Governor of Hawaii, Josh Green basically saying that independent journalism about what is going on in Maui is VERY discouraged & that sources outside of the Government should not be trusted or listened to.

The lockdown is reminiscent of the stateâs recent draconian covid response and has undertones similar to the Hurricane Katrina calamity in 2005. It is possible that the Hawaiian government got a taste of ultimate power over the past few years and now they think that 1st Amendment rights no longer apply. The editor of the Maui Times reiterates that the government is shutting out all media inquiries and they are not to blame for the lack of confirmed updates on the situation.
Maui Times editor on the media blackout concerning the Maui âwildfiresâ
There are a few possible takeaways to be gathered here: First, itâs clear that independent reporting is having an effect in exposing state mismanagement, which is why they are attacking âinfluencersâ and putting access on ice. Second, public pressure must be immense, because even the local media is trying to stave off the torches and pitchforks by reiterating that they have no access. When was the last time you saw the mainstream media calling out information controls instead of working in direct lockstep with officials? Third, there is something going on in Maui beyond bureaucratic hubris.
Why block the media from going to the site of the fire?
Why try to inoculate the public to any information outside of government sources?
Is there something they are trying to hide beyond incompetence?
There is evidence to suggest that a major land grab is already in progress, with wealthy interests as well as state interests circling the charred Maui carcass ready to feed. There are also questions as to the true source of the fires.
Frankly, if government policy decisions led to the deaths of hundreds of people then they should pay the price for their blunders. If other shady activities are afoot, then the public has a right to know. The state is not given license to deny media examination of the event. Democrats in Hawaii are trying to turn the tables and make the calamity about who deserves to report the news, when they should be scrambling to save their own skins in the face of intense public scrutiny. These people deserve to be placed under a very large and uncomfortable microscope.
GOVERNMENT COVERUP?! REPORTER SAYS HAWAII GOVERNOR ISN'T TELLING MAUI RESIDENTS THE WHOLE TRUTH
Smells like a government cover-up: Reporter claims Hawaii governor is HIDING THE WHOLE TRUTH from Maui residents
Unlike Joe Biden, who just cleared his schedule up enough to finally pay a visit to Maui, investigative journalist Nick Sortor has been on the island for some time now.
âLocals in the area say that the number of those killed is closer to 500â and that âthe morgues are running out of body bags,â reports Sara Gonzales, citing the Daily Mail.
âThere was one resident that told the outlet, âI know there are at least 480 dead here in Maui, and I don't understand why the authorities are not saying that.â ... Have you seen anything on the ground to indicate that the government has not been truthful about the death toll so far?â Sara asks Sortor.
âI know at this point that the government has not been truthful over the death toll,â including âthe death toll of the children,â Sortor says.
As for the morgues, Sortor says thereâs only one official morgue in Maui, and itâs currently full with hundreds of people.
Never personally been to Maui, so cannot confirm if this is true but allegedly the island is somewhat segregated by having a Jewish side and a Christian side.
Some are making a comparison and claim that the Jewish side is mostly untouched while the Christian side has been scorched.

Then there are tweets like this, saying that celebs painted their houses blue to block the DEW:
Saw the name (flat earth), but it is found curious regardless. Could there be anything to these claims? According to the tweet, Obama, Clinton, Hanks, DeGeneres, Tiegen, Kid Rock and Oprah all painted their houses blue - and the question about this, was already being asked back in October 2022

Maui Resident Uploading Raw Video Footage being Threatened and Fears for His Life
by Brian Shilhavy
Editor, Health Impact News
A long-time Maui resident who was visiting Maui before the fires broke out, has uploaded video footage of what is really happening on the ground in Maui since the fires started.
TikTok user Geoff Cygnus has often had to hike up into the mountains to get a cell phone signal strong enough to upload his video footage.
It started out as just raw footage of the areas that were burned down with no commentary about how and why it happened, but as efforts to silence him increased, he began reporting more about how he was being attacked and how some were attempting to silence him.
I have put together a video that shows some of his most recent uploads, and just a warning that this is a very frustrated, and scared, person who hahttps://healthimpactnews.com/2023/maui-resident-uploading-raw-video-footage-being-threatened-and-fears-for-his-life/s now begun to use profanity.
His content at this point is still up on his TikTok channel: Tiktok.com/@geoffcygnus
Many of these videos are going viral, so download them now while you can.

Nothing to see here folks.....
Thank you.
The only one confirmed (to me) to own a house in Maui out of that list, is Oprah. Her house is described as white, in directions on how to get there. And most pictures online show a white house with grey sort of roof. I have spotted a few pictures of a house with a more blue-ish grey roof (as well as an adjoining building with red tiled roof). However, one of these pictures, on Newsweek, was dated as being from 2004 when she bought the property on which there were already two buildings, and it has been publicly reported that she transformed at least one of them into the farmhouse-type house:
Note that other similar pictures (referring to the "blue" claims here), carried by The Daily Mail and others, show the two buildings (bluish-grey roof and red tiled roof) as if they were current, without stating the date of the picture, unlike Newsweek (2004):
Oprah Winfrey's Maui estate is seen on March 16, 2004 in the Kula district on Maui, Hawaii. The TV icon's home escaped the blazes that devestated much of the island.

Maui residents could confirm what the present house actually looks like. Possible directions:
- If youâve just landed on Maui and are currently driving away from the airport, youâll need to head toward Haleakala. Follow Highway 37 all the way out towards Ulupalakua.
- As you join this highway, take a look to your right and you should see the West Maui Mountain Range, and on your left you should be able to see Mount Haleakala. This means youâre heading the right way.
- Youâll eventually reach an intersection in Kahului. Youâll know itâs the right one if youâre straddling Dairy Road and Hana Highway. This intersection is located just past the large K-Mart in Kahului.
- At this intersection, take a left onto Hana Highway. Stay on this road for around 1 mile, and then you should see a large green sign on your right that states âHaleakala Crater. Kula. Pukalani. Take this right.
- Now youâre on Highway 37. Youâll need to stay on this road up until you turn off to get to Oprahâs house. While cruising Highway 37, youâll pass a turn off for Makawao. Youâll also see lots of signs for the âCrater,â keep driving and donât be tempted to turn-off. Youâve nearly reached Oprahâs place!
- Keep driving until you see mile marker 16.5, youâll know youâre in the right place when you see Keokea park to your left. When you see it, begin to slow down. Keep an eye out for a sign that reads âThompson Ranch Road,â take the left onto this road. Youâll notice that it immediately veers off to the right. Be sure not to miss this turning otherwise youâll end up at Kula Hospital.
- Be sure to drive carefully and slowly while you head down Thompson Ranch Road, as itâs a winding road which is often packed with crowds of tourists trying to get a glimpse of the property. Keep an eye on the hillside to your left, as about a quarter of a mile down, you should see a huge glistening white building perched on top of a hill.
Youâve made it to Oprahâs house!
Now, according to reports, she has expanded her property, so there may be, or have been, a property that has, or had, a blue house or blue-roof house.
That said, it would be interesting if she didn't bother painting that white farmhouse's roof blue "to avoid DEW", as that one seems to be her pride and joy one, which she has pictured on her own website.
People have pointed out that the article pictured in that Tweet (er... Xeet? What is it called now? ) dated 18 Oct 2022 cannot be found. The two named writers work for or are published by architecturaldigest.com
Here's a Jan 2023 piece on that same website listing the real estate Ellen De Generes owns. Maui is not mentioned:
Inside Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossiâs Endless Real Estate Portfolio | Architectural Digest.
I had a look to see if I could confirm the other names on that list without success. If someone can, please let me know?
That is interesting. As is his past (Vegas massacre).
Thank you.
You're welcome.
