After the government’s announcement of 7 p.m curfews – with immediate effect – professionals from the hospitality industry masked up and clapped together while standing six-feet apart outside No. 6, on Friday evening, Dec. 18.
With the aim of rejecting the Civil Contingencies and Restrictions, hospitality sector members demonstrated their displeasure with measures designed to further stifle the business and the local economy by the now-totalitarian global government of Gibraltar.
The new regulations were discussed during a meeting held on Friday morning, attended by the Minister for Public Health, Dr John Cortes and the Director for Public Health, Dr Sohail Bhatti. Samantha Sacramento, Minister for Civil Contingencies, read out the new regulations in Parliament on Friday afternoon. She did not rule out further restrictions announced next week if advised. GSD’s Elliott Phillips said the party empathises with this statement. Together Gibraltar leader, Marlene Hassan Nahon, said: “We agree with the measures implemented by Government.”
