I might have posted this previously.
The Levanter pennant cloud in Gibraltar, which seems to appear out of nowhere, can be compared to aerodynamic contrails on aircraft wings - both are natural phenomena that do not originate from tanks, either on the Rock of Gibraltar or on planes.
The cloud forms only under specific atmospheric conditions—such as moist, capped air being forced over the Rock.
Persistent contrails from airplanes also require precise parameters, including cold, humid air and stable atmospheric layering (known as stratification), which prevents vertical mixing and allows condensed ice crystals to remain suspended as visible trails.
