During the EU summit, Spain pledged to send crucial supplies to Ukraine, including missile launchers and anti-drone systems.
In response to Zelensky’s request, the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez , committed to sending six additional Hawk missile launchers to Ukraine.
These will be added to those already sent previously, along with the Aspide , demining tools and anti-drone systems, whose specifications have not yet been detailed.
A day after pledging Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky its unwavering support, the European Union yesterday came face to face with one of its worst political headaches on a key commitment – how and when to welcome destitute and battered Ukraine into the bloc.
Immediately, a rift became evident: between those who want to draw in Kyiv and other aspiring nations as quickly as possible, and others that want the bloc to bide its time, setting up difficult talks on an issue that requires unanimity among the 27 member states.
Leaders will have to decide whether to officially open talks with Ukraine in December but Mr Orban said the bloc was still unprepared to take such momentous decisions.
