In this first clip they claim there's a beam when there is not. If it's this lens flare then here we see it in front of the Shell logo proving it's just a lens flare.
Most probably we are seeing some transformers blow or something similar. I was not able to find a source to this video so we do not know what event we are watching. Not very professional to leave out the source references.

Almost exploded? There's no sign of an explosion in the video so does he mean figuratively? That the fire was so fast that it was figuratively, explosive in nature?
Well, I believe that one of the best ingredients for an "explosive fire" is burning cars (fuels, plastics) and a strong wind.
Unless the fire is able to spread and jump over these fire breaks using flying embers.
(Which anyone who has tended a camp fire in wind knows it is and can mentally calculate how much embers would fly off a bigger fire.)

Other places online people who say they have spent time there in the past are saying that they do not understand how the surrounding topography could cause this firestorm and that there are always high winds there.

Point I am making is there is footage of melted hubcaps on vehicles in the road by the shoreline meters away from other combustible material, so the data you published about temperatures reached in forest fires is not relevant to these cases. It reminds me of the damage limitation exercises after 911 to account for the molten steel observed flowing. No doubt Popular Mechanics will come out with another article soon.
