IRONY: “Green” solar energy creating massive landfill waste problem in California

Tuesday, July 19, 2022 by: Ethan Huff

(Natural News) The Golden State was a proud pioneer in rolling out rooftop solar panel solutions back in the late 1990s and early 2000s when almost nobody else was doing it, claiming that the technology would stop “global warming” and ease pressure on the energy grid. Now that the earliest panels released are reaching the end of their life cycle, however, California has no idea what to do with all the photovoltaic waste that is piling up.

An exposé by the Los Angeles Times reveals that landfills all across California are now filling up with people’s dead panels, which contain all kinds of toxic metals such as lead and cadmium that threaten to contaminate groundwater supplies.

Used-up solar panels can be recycled, but Sam Vanderhoof, a solar industry expert and CEO of Recycle PV Solar, says that only about 10 percent are actually recycled, according to estimates drawn from the International Renewable Energy Agency (IREA). The rest are getting dumped in landfills where they will pollute the environment for years to come.

“The industry is supposed to be green,” Vanderhoof is quoted as saying. “But in reality, it’s all about the money.” (Related: Remember when schizophrenic California was penalizing residents for producing too much energy with solar panels?)

Everything “green” turns out to be more polluting than the “dirty” technologies it replaced

For many years, California incentivized rooftop solar panels by offering taxpayer-funded rebates to households who took advantage of them. In 2006, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) formed the California Solar Initiative, which granted $3.3 billion in subsidies for their installation.

This helped to drastically and artificially bring down the price of rooftop solar panels, incentivizing millions of residents to take the leap and buy them. The problem now is that many of those early-installed panels have reached the end of their life and there is no way to safely dispose of them.

As is usually the case in California, politicians are now calling for a new solar tax to address the problem. But as is always the case, that tax, like all other taxes, will not do anything other than line the pockets of the people who proposed it in the first place.

“This trash is probably going to arrive sooner than we expected and it is going to be a huge amount of waste,” says Serasu Duran, an assistant professor at the University of Calgary’s Haskayne School of Business in Canada.

“But while all the focus has been on building this renewable capacity, not much consideration has been put on the end of life of these technologies.”

Duran helped co-write an article for the Harvard Business Review that highlights the solar panel industry for being “woefully unprepared for the deluge of waste that is likely to come.”

Every 60 seconds in 2021, a new solar project was installed somewhere in the country. Since the early 2000s, solar has extended far beyond California’s borders to every state in the country, and the amount of future waste that is accruing is unfathomable.

“There’s no doubt that there will be an increase in the solar panels entering the waste stream in the next decade or so,” warns AJ Orben, vice president of We Recycle Solar, a Phoenix-based company that breaks down solar panels and extracts their valuable metals while disposing of the remaining toxic elements.

“That’s never been a question.”

Ironically, We Recycle Solar does not have any recycling centers in California, despite the vast majority of its business coming from the state, because California has strict permitting laws for toxic materials. All of the solar waste from California is instead trucked to a site in Yuma, Ariz., for processing.

2 ) Please read the piece for yourself. The Forum is committed to publishing a wide array of voices and misrepresenting content only diminishes open conversations.

With 63% of the world’s population online, the internet is a mirror of society: it speaks all languages, contains every opinion and hosts a wide range of (sometimes unsavoury) individuals.

As the internet has evolved, so has the dark world of online harms. Trust and safety teams (the teams typically found within online platforms responsible for removing abusive content and enforcing platform policies) are challenged by an ever-growing list of abuses, such as child abuse, extremism, disinformation, hate speech and fraud; and increasingly advanced actors misusing platforms in unique ways.

The solution, however, is not as simple as hiring another roomful of content moderators or building yet another block list. Without a profound familiarity with different types of abuse, an understanding of hate group verbiage, fluency in terrorist languages and nuanced comprehension of disinformation campaigns, trust and safety teams can only scratch the surface.

A more sophisticated approach is required. By uniquely combining the power of innovative technology, off-platform intelligence collection and the prowess of subject-matter experts who understand how threat actors operate, scaled detection of online abuse can reach near-perfect precision.

Online abuses are becoming more complex

Since the introduction of the internet, wars have been fought, recessions have come and gone and new viruses have wreaked havoc. While the internet played a vital role in how these events were perceived, other changes – like the radicalization of extreme opinions, the spread of misinformation and the wide reach of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) – have been enabled by it.

Online platforms’ attempts to stop these abuses have led to a Roadrunner meets Wile E. Coyote-like situation, where threat actors use increasingly sophisticated tactics to avoid evolving detection mechanisms. This has resulted in the development of new slang, like child predators referring to “cheese pizza” and other terms involving the letters c and p instead of “child pornography”. New methodologies are employed, such as using link shorteners to hide a reference to a disinformation website; and online abuse tactics, such as the off-platform coordination of attacks on minorities.

Traditional methods aren’t enough

The basis of most harmful content detection methods is artificial intelligence (AI). This powerful technology relies on massive training sets to quickly identify violative behaviours at scale. Built on data sets of known online abuses in familiar languages means AI can detect known abuses in familiar languages, but it is less effective at detecting nuanced violations in languages it wasn't trained on – a gaping hole of which threat actors can take advantage.

While providing speed and scale, AI also lacks context: a critical component of trust and safety work. For example, robust AI models exist to detect nudity but few can discern whether that nudity is part of a renaissance painting or a pornographic image. Similarly, most models can’t decipher whether the knife featured in a video is being used to promote a butcher’s equipment or a violent attack. This lack of context may lead to over-moderating, limiting free speech on online platforms; or under-moderating, which is a risk to user safety.

In contrast to AI, human moderators and subject-matter experts can detect nuanced online abuse and understand many languages and cultures. This precision, however, is limited by the analyst’s specific area of expertise: a human moderator who is an expert in European white supremacy won’t necessarily be able to recognize harmful content in India or misinformation narratives in Kenya. This limited focus means that for human moderators to be effective, they must be part of large, robust teams – a demanding effort for most technology companies.

The human element should also not be ignored. The thousands of moderators tasked with keeping abhorrent content offline must witness it themselves, placing them at high risk of mental illness and traumatic disorders. Beyond care for moderators, this situation may limit the operation’s effectiveness, as high churn and staffing instabilities lead to low organizational stability and inevitable moderation mistakes.

The "Trust & Safety" intelligent solution to detect online abuse

While AI provides speed and scale and human moderators provide precision, their combined efforts are still not enough to proactively detect harm before it reaches platforms. To achieve proactivity, trust and safety teams must understand that abusive content doesn’t start and stop on their platforms. Before reaching mainstream platforms, threat actors congregate in the darkest corners of the web to define new keywords, share URLs to resources and discuss new dissemination tactics at length. These secret places where terrorists, hate groups, child predators and disinformation agents freely communicate can provide a trove of information for teams seeking to keep their users safe.

The problem is that accessing this information is in no way scalable. Classic intelligence collection requires deep research, expertise, access and a fair amount of assimilation skills – human capacities that cannot be mimicked by a machine.

Baking in intelligence

We’ve established that the standard process of AI algorithms for scale and human moderators for precision doesn’t adequately balance scale, novelty and nuance. We’ve also established that off-platform intelligence collecting can provide context and nuance, but not scale and speed.

To overcome the barriers of traditional detection methodologies, we propose a new framework: rather than relying on AI to detect at scale and humans to review edge cases, an intelligence-based approach is crucial.

By bringing human-curated, multi-language, off-platform intelligence into learning sets, AI will then be able to detect nuanced, novel online abuses at scale, before they reach mainstream platforms. Supplementing this smarter automated detection with human expertise to review edge cases and identify false positives and negatives and then feeding those findings back into training sets will allow us to create AI with human intelligence baked in. This more intelligent AI gets more sophisticated with each moderation decision, eventually allowing near-perfect detection, at scale.

By bringing human-curated, multi-language, off-platform intelligence into learning sets, AI will then be able to detect nuanced, novel online abuses at scale, before they reach mainstream platforms.

The outcome

The lag between the advent of novel abuse tactics and when AI can detect them is what allows online abuse to proliferate. Incorporating intelligence into the content moderation process allows teams to significantly reduce the time between when new online abuse methods are introduced and when AI can detect them. In this way, trust and safety teams can stop threats rising online before they reach users.

Switzerland to Deploy 5,000 Army Troops to protect World Economic Forum Meeting in Davos

https://halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/en/news-page/world/switzerland-to-deploy-5-000-army-troops-to-protect-world-economic-forum-meeting-in-davos

The Swiss army will deploy 5,000 troops ahead of the World Economic Forum’s next meeting in Davos. Authorities indicated the troops were authorized to utilize coercive police measures to fulfill their security mission.

“The Federal Parliament has set a ceiling of 5,000 troops who will serve in support during the WEF, which will run from January 10 to 26. Some of them will be stationed directly in Davos, where the annual meeting will be held from January 16 to 20,” the statement read.

According to the statement, other servicemen will provide logistics and air force operations support throughout Switzerland. Soldiers will be authorized to “use coercive police measures to carry out their respective tasks,” the government said.

There will also be snipers on the roofs of most buildings, and in previous years the Swiss Police have shot drones from the sky.

The WEF predicts that soon everyone will be able to ‘rent’ anything they need under the cover of ‘sustainable development’ (SDGs) and ‘saving the planet’ (Net Zero). There is no doubt that the tiny elites who rolled out the Great Reset will own it all.

The number of participants in the forum is currently unknown. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, Ecuadorian President Guillermo Lasso, and Colombian President Gustavo Petro will attend the Davos forum personally, according to the latest information. Keir Starmer and Rachel Reeves will also be attending.

Zelensky will also speak at the World Economic Forum’s Davos meeting alongside CNN anchors and NATO chiefs.

Only distinguished delegates were allowed to fly in and out of Davos last year due to a no-fly zone.

There has been fierce opposition to the WEF’s extremist agenda, including The Great Reset, Build Back Better, and You’ll Own Nothing and Be Happy. The WEF is now feeling the heat. In response to those who oppose its techno-tyranny, it has waged a defensive PR campaign recently. The World Economic Forum also recently canceled its Twitter feed in favor of Chinese state-run social media:

  1. “What we have to confront is a deep systemic and structural restructuring of our world, and the world will look differently after we have gone through this transition process (Great Reset)” – Klaus Schwab B20 Summit Indonesia 2022 Opening Remarks 14.11.2022. https://twitter.com/SikhForTruth/status/1592471425998532611/video/1 — SikhForTruth (@SikhForTruth) November 15, 2022

Klaus Schwab gave the opening remarks in November at the B20 event. He said that “What we have to confront is a deep systemic and structural restructuring of our world, and the world will look differently after we have been through this transition process” (aka the Great Reset).

The coronavirus pandemic has been the vehicle for the Great Reset conceived by Klaus Schwab of the WEF. Globalists intend to eradicate all borders, dismantle the free market, and drastically reduce the global population.

The list of World Economic Forum summit attendees has been leaked

The attendees list is a massive roster of some of the most influential and diabolical forces in the corporate, governmental and 'non-profit' world.

The Dossier has acquired a confidential list of every individual (excluding some government officials) who will be in attendance for the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) annual summit in Davos, Switzerland next week.

The attendees list is a massive roster of some of the most influential and diabolical forces in the corporate, governmental and “non-profit” world. From the United States, this includes the likes of FBI director Chris Wray, the CEOs of Amazon, BlackRock, and Pfizer, top officials at the Gates Foundation and in the Soros network, and the Publisher of The New York Times, to name a few.

The World Economic Forum (WEF), through its annual Davos conference, acts as the go-to in person, invite-only, closed to ideological outsiders policy and ideas shop for the global ruling class.

BREAKING: I just got pulled over at a police checkpoint at the World Economic Forum

Today I was driving to the World Economic Forum in Davos with our Rebel News journalists when a police checkpoint waved us over.

We had seen hundreds of police, military police and even soldiers driving in camouflaged army trucks on the route to Davos. We knew it was only a matter of time before they pulled us over.

What would they do to us — since we are not the “approved”, obedient journalists that the World Economic Forum prefers?

Would we be banned from Davos? Deported from Switzerland? Or even arrested?

See for yourself, we recorded every moment of it:

Wow. I was ready to go toe-to-toe with the Swiss police about press freedom — I studied their laws before we went and knew our rights. But all I had to do was to remind the police that Switzerland is a free country, no matter what Klaus Schwab and the oligarchs at the WEF say. And that was enough for him to wave us on through — no search, not arrest, not even a demand to see our passports.

It’s only day one, but so far I’d say the score is Rebel News 1, Klaus Schwab 0, wouldn’t you think?

Klaus Schwab and George Soros BOW-OUT of World Economic Forum Conference (Starting today) in Davos

https://halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/en/news-page/world/klaus-scwab-and-george-soros-bow-out-of-world-economic-forum-conference-starting-today-in-davos

Something VERY BIG is going on and it appears it is not good. The World Economic Forum (WEF) begins its world conference today, but WEF Founder Klaus Schwab and now Billionaire George Soros have just BOWED-OUT; they will NOT attend!

Citing alleged "health issues" Klaus Schwab has just made known he will not attend the WEF Conference in Davos.

Now, George Soros is publicly saying he, too, will not attend. This despite the conference date being set months in advance, and it being the biggest affair the WEF runs every year.

This comes despite the country of Switzerland deploying five thousand army troops, and empowering those troops to "use coercive police power" to keep order.

RUMORS are running rampant and they CLAIM (unsubstantiated) that both Schwab and Soros believe they are being hunted for what they're doing, and trying to do, to the world. The RUMORS (unsubstantiated) claim both men now fear for their physical safety.

More if I get it . . .

HAL TURNER PERSONAL OPINION

Would anyone really care if Russia sent a couple Kinzal hypersonic missiles to wipe out that whole crowd? For me, I wouldn't shed a tear!

Whatever is really going on, likely won't ever be known by us little people. It seems clear to me, however, that something very big is happening.

Update from Hal Turner:

Update 4:37 PM EST --

Klaus Schwab DID in fact, show-up to the opening of the WEF today, despite publicly saying he would not be there due to health reasons!

CAUGHT HIM! Rebel News pummels Pfizer CEO with questions at World Economic Forum

It was the moment we were waiting for: one of the most hated men in the world going for a leisurely stroll because he assumed he was amongst friends. After all, in the three years since the pandemic began, have you ever seen a journalist ask him a tough question?

Well, he didn’t count on Rebel News and our accountability style of citizen journalism.

I walked right up to him and started asking him the questions that millions of people have surely been wondering for years. And a moment later, Avi joined in, making it a sort of walking press conference. And Bourla couldn’t answer a single question.

You know, there are hundreds of “accredited” journalists here at the World Economic Forum — the biggest names in news, from CNN to the New York Times. But you have to understand: they’re all here as WEF members, not to hold the WEF to account. They’re on Pfizer’s team. They would never ask Pfizer a tough question.

I really don’t think their CEO knew what hit him today.

That’s what we’re doing every day here at the WEF.

Today we really proved that, when it comes to holding the establishment to account, citizen journalists are the only ones who can be trusted. Everyone else is just too compromised.

Between Avi and I, we asked 29 questions. Everything we have been wanting to ask the Pfizer CEO for three years — from how much he has personally profited from the pandemic, to how much he has paid others to promote his vaccines, to important questions about when he knew his vaccines didn’t actually stop transmission, and why he kept it a secret.

Interview: Mr Singh, anti-vaccine warrior

Mr. Singh, a protester from the Midlands in England, drove all the way to Davos to protest the use of mRNA vaccines. In the hopes of having his message seen by the leader of the Labour Party, Kier Starmer, Mr. Singh walked the streets of Davos with an eye-catching banner.

Charles Preaches WEF Prophecies on Very First Royal Visit as King

Speech strikingly similar to WEF article published on same day.

King Charles has started his Reign by preaching World Economic Forum doomsday prophecies against advice from Government.

The King, making his first speech after his Coronation on Tuesday said to that engineers must “save this planet from increasing catastrophe” a reference to the already debunked, global warming scam still favoured by him and Klaus Schwab.

He made a return back to official Royal duties on Tuesday, and against advice, used his first ever engagement as Monarch to bolster the World Economic Forum's climate change narrative. Charles first speech as King was to a laboratory where scientists just happen to be working on net zero research. In a speech to the laboratory’s team, he said: “The key exercise of all this is to keep the team expanding and not lose all these remarkable people who have the… engineering skills to help lead what we need so badly and so urgently in order to save this planet from increasing catastrophe.”

He met staff and academics from Cambridge University’s Whittle Laboratory, which is undertaking research to help the country achieve net zero by 2050, particularly in the aerospace industry. The Whittle Laboratory is named after Frank Whittle, the inventor of the Jet Engine, with the entire laboratory now dedicated to destroying his legacy rather than protecting it.

The speech appeared strikingly similar to an article that appeared on the WEF website the same day, leading to speculation about the role of the organisation in King Charles' affairs.

In his speech to the laboratory’s “remarkable” team, the King said: “The aviation sector is critical in all this, as are many other sectors…the more we can do, the faster we can do it, with the kind of systems you have here at the Whittle to accelerate the research and development, is so important and encouraging."

“And if I may say so, finally, the great thing is to be working with other countries, transatlantic partnerships, and indeed I hope others who will be part of this real and exciting effort to transform and revolutionise the way we can travel in the future.”

He said that albeit being an arts graduate from Cambridge, he was “full of admiration for the incredible activities which go on here in engineering and so many other fields”, adding: “This country’s greatest strength lies in innovatory skills.”

WEF version of the speech: Decarbonizing aviation: What the shift to alternative propulsion will require | World Economic Forum

Charles famously co-hosted the Great Reset video, along with Klaus Schwab, and has since repeated the WEF's mantras at every given opportunity leading some to fear that the monarchy has now been captured by Schwab and his cronies.

World Economic Forum finally tells the truth about Covid: It was a ‘test’ of our obedience to rapidly forming new world order

Leo Hohmann – Leo’s Newsletter Sept 6, 2024

I have long said that Covid 19 was launched by design by a small number of people in the globalist predator class for one reason and one reason only — as a beta test for the coming technocratic new world order.

Now, we’ve got the World Economic Forum coming out and all but admitting that was exactly why the Covid-19 “pandemic” had to happen.

The WEF gleefully posted the following snippet to the “My Carbon” page of its website where they make a pitch for so-called smart cities, which is just another term for 15-minute cities.

The first of three “developments” that the WEF says must be in place before the world can evolve into its utopian vision of “smart and sustainable cities,” is compliance with restrictions on our freedom. It writes:

  1. COVID-19 was the test of social responsibility – A huge number of unimaginable restrictions for public health were adopted by billions of citizens across the world. There were numerous examples globally of maintaining social distancing, wearing masks, mass vaccinations and acceptance of contact-tracing applications for public health, which demonstrated the core of individual social responsibility.

They were testing us. That’s what Covid was all about. They wanted to see how many of us would give up our individual freedom and individual sovereignty by complying with a “new normal” that consisted of restrictions bordering on the absurd. Why, for instance was it “safe” to shop at Lowe’s or Home Depot but unsafe to shop at a small business or attend church? Why was it OK to go to strip clubs in Michigan but you couldn’t buy seeds for a garden?

In case the WEF decides to take down this damning link about Covid being a test of public compliance with medical tyranny, I’m inserting a screenshot of it below.

Below is a short video on the Milgram Experiment.

Dr. Fauci admits social distancing was not science based
