Cops on the Rock (10×60’), from Rare TV, follows Gibraltar’s police force as it guards against a growing threat of terrorism, investigates murders, burglaries and fraud, and patrols the territory’s international waters, airport, port and land border with Spain.
The series will air on Dave next year. Exec producing are director of content Emma Barker, creative director Rory Wheeler and David Gilbert for Rare TV, alongside senior commissioning editor Helen Nightingale for UKTV.
Nightingale said: “Rare TV is taking us on a fascinating journey with Gibraltar’s police force as it works tirelessly to apprehend drug smugglers crossing the Straits of Gibraltar, intercept oil tankers flouting international law, deal with juvenile crime, and prevent potentially deadly terrorist attacks. It’s a compelling watch and shines a light on a little-known area of the British police force.”
