The Minister for the Environment, Sustainability and Climate Change will be in Glasgow this week, for the Global Summit on Climate Change.
John Cortes will be representing Gibraltar and the UK Overseas Territories at COP26.
On Saturday, he will publish a joint statement on the Environment with the Overseas Territories. Gibraltar’s own climate change strategy is expected to be published during the course of COP26.
Ahead of travelling to COP26, Minister Cortes has highlighted the importance of networking with others, given that with many of the OTs in tropical areas and surrounded by sea, they are directly threatened by Climate Change.
The Minister will also promote Gibraltar’s intention to access Green Finance opportunities during COP26.
