The Health Authority has specialist rooms, equipment and procedures ready to deal with any suspected cases of the new more dangerous strain of mpox.
This has been revealed to GBC after the first case of the new strain was confirmed in the UK.
However, the Director of Public Health says the risk to Gibraltar is low, as there has been no transmission within the UK itself.
