The Treasury allocates 7.3 million for water infrastructure in the Campo de Gibraltar.

The Treasury will allocate 7.3 million euros for water infrastructure in the Campo de Gibraltar as part of the Campo de Gibraltar Plan activated by the Government four years ago.

The Minister of the Treasury, María Jesús Montero, visited the Campo de Gibraltar region in Cadiz this morning to sign agreements with the mayors of its eight municipalities aimed at improving their water infrastructure.

The agreement, with a total fund of 7.3 million euros, is intended to enhance water cycle digitization and waste treatments in the different municipalities of the region.

The signing of the agreement took place at the Governors' Palace in San Roque (Cádiz), where the minister held a meeting with the eight mayors to finalize the subsidy.

In statements to the media, Montero highlighted that "over the past three years, numerous actions have been taken that allow us to be in better conditions, in terms of national matters, such as greater efficiency in water use in all its aspects, tackling the effects of drought more effectively, waste management, and recycling that enables a circular economy.

The acting Minister of Finance and Public Function, María Jesús Montero, visited San Roque on Tuesday August 8 to sign a series of collaboration agreements with the eight municipalities of the Campo de Gibraltar.

The total amount involved is €7.3 million, with just over a million going to San Roque which is home to Sotogrande.

The decision to make this money available was based on several submissions made by the various local councils which were compiled via the Commonwealth County Board in February of this year and the those present were pleased that the decision to grant the financial support was being pushed through before any possible change of government could stop the process.
