The Junta sees the Campo de Gibraltar as key to making Andalusia a world power in green hydrogen.

Green hydrogen as a future energy vector will have one of its main references in the Campo de Gibraltar, which Andalusia intends to become a world power in its production and export. This was stated on Wednesday at the Palace of San Telmo by the President of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, during the constitution of the Andalusian Green Hydrogen Alliance, which has been joined by 150 companies, most of them with activity in the region. The president highlighted the "growing industrial demand" in the Campo de Gibraltar and Huelva as one of the "extraordinary conditions" for achieving the objective. Moreno considers that the Andalusian Green Hydrogen Alliance is a strategic link in the road-map that the Andalusian government has been accelerating since 2019 in the fight against climate change and to position itself in a prominent place in the new productive model based on sustainability and digitisation.
