The Government refers La Línea's request for anti-Brexit measures to the Ministry of Territorial Policy.

The Office of the Prime Minister has referred to the Ministry of Territorial Policy the request for a meeting submitted by the City Council of La Línea de la Concepción to President Pedro Sánchez to address issues related to the uniqueness of the municipality.

This was the response sent from the Prime Minister’s Office to the Mayor's Office this morning, following the second meeting request made yesterday to both the Government and the Junta de Andalucía. This comes a month after the October 25 demonstration, during which exceptional measures were requested for the city.

The referral to the Ministry of Territorial Policy is justified by scheduling issues, a reason that the mayor has stated he fully understands.

The City Council is preparing a dossier with documentation to be sent to this ministry. The Government’s response has been shared with the Board of Spokespersons, and there is hope for a meeting to be convened as soon as possible to address the city’s demands and advocate for fair treatment for La Línea.
