The diver who put the Spanish flag on a concrete block in BGTW will be Vox's candidate for La Línea

The National Executive Committee of VOX has appointed Álvaro Cuadros García as candidate for Mayor of La Línea for the municipal elections on 28 May. Born in La Línea in 1975, he is a professional deep-sea diver with qualifications in all specialities.

A decade ago, Cuadros became famous and even made the front page of a national newspaper after he literally nailed a national flag to one of the concrete blocks launched by Gibraltar during the dispute with fishermen from La Línea.

He is also a qualified trainer of trainers, advanced level, from the Nebrija University and has taught at the University of Cadiz for the Master's Degree in Hyperbaric Medicine, in the installations module. Cuadros is a member and founder of PESBUCO, the largest association of professional diving companies in Spain. He is president of the Oxygen and Life Foundation and has been working for more than 20 years in the underwater work and hyperbaric oxygen therapy sector, as well as being closely linked to the local commerce and industry of La Línea.

Within the party, he has been a member of the Provincial Executive Committee and coordinator in the Campo de Gibraltar area. He is currently coordinator of the National Security Department and provincial head of the Solidarity trade union in the province of Cadiz.

Álvaro Cuadros said yesterday that he is looking forward to the responsibility of heading the VOX list in La Línea for the municipal elections in May with the conviction that VOX will be in the Town Hall next term to work for the prosperity of all the people of La Línea.
