Gibraltar has reportedly seen more, and larger blue fin tuna in our waters than ever before.
Yesterday, Stuart and Christian Mason, their father Stuart and friend Karim Belkhir broke local records, landing the largest ever tuna, an impressive 376 kg fish.
In the first 12 days of the tuna fishing season, approximately nine tonnes have already been caught.
The Tuna Fishing Club's Sam Marrache told GBC it's evidence blue fin tunas are thriving.
He believes there's scope for further study of why these massive fish are coming to our waters in these numbers. Mr Marrache said the Tuna Fishing Club wants to promote sustainable fishing, stressing all the fishing they do is by hand.
