More tension in disputed waters: British military manoeuvring to the East of Gibraltar.

The waters surrounding Gibraltar will be the scene of a military exercise on Tuesday, October 3.

Following recent tensions with Spanish authorities and one week before the Gibraltar elections, this exercise takes place.

The Gibraltar Port Authority has issued a notice to mariners informing them of these military maneuvers, which will limit access to the area east of the Rock where they will take place.

This is a "military training" exercise in what they call the sovereign waters of Gibraltar.

Units from the Royal Navy, the British Navy, will participate and carry out "high-speed maneuvers and blank firings."

The "training operation" will be active on Tuesday, October 3, from 12:00 to 15:30.

In recent weeks, there have been complaints from the Spanish side about the harassment of Customs Surveillance units and fishermen, long queues due to the disparity in procedures at the La Línea border, the presence of British MPs in military uniforms, and the repeated presence of nuclear submarines.

These military maneuvers now take place in this tense atmosphere.

A new Local Notice to Mariners has been released:
