Marinas In The Area

There are three marinas in Gibraltar. These include Marina Bay, Ocean Village Marina, and Queensway Quay Marina.

Marina Bay is the largest of three marinas in the British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar. The Marina Bay and Ocean Village are positioned just north of Gibraltar Harbour, between the North Mole and the airport runway. Marina Bay and the adjacent Ocean Village Marina together have been incorporated into the Ocean Village Project. Queensway Quay Marina is located within the middle section of the harbour.

Queensway

The Queensway Quay Marina is the site of what may be the oldest wharf in Gibraltar, Ragged Staff Wharf.

The marina has 185 berths, including facilities for up to eight 30 metre and two 40 metre vessels. In addition, it has a 75-metre berth, although its ability to accommodate a larger vessel is dependent upon the boat's draft (or draught). Metered water and electricity are available at all berths, and some berths have access to cable television and telephone. The marina also has shower and toilet facilities, as well as access to a laundry service.

Tucked into the rocks western side behind the outer mole Queensway Quay offers one of the most protected berthing options in the Bay of Gibraltar.

In Morocco -

Marina Smir

The north coast of Morocco forms a little-explored landscape of bays and coves framed by a surprisingly green hinterland that shatters the first-time visitor's preconception of Morocco as an arid and desolate country. Set within this scenery of blue Mediterranean waters and green hills covered in wild flowers lays Marina Smir, Morocco's most fashionable marina and resort.

Situated directly on the beach, halfway between Ceuta and Tetouan, and 30 kilometres from Tangiers airport, Marina Smir is approached through unspoiled natural scenery. Just 40 kilometres across the sea from Gibraltar and the Costa del Sol.

Offering easy clearance procedures for visiting yachts, good berthing facilities and excellent value for money, the success of the marina has spurred on the development of the resort, which in turn has given rise to an up-and-coming residential area.

Just thinking about this song:

Let The River Run (The New Jerusalem)
We're coming to the edge,
running on the water,
coming through the fog,
your sons and daughters.

Thinking it might not hurt to know about the area.

And then there's this - About The New Jerusalem.

An Eastside Marina is in the works in Gibraltar:

The project encompasses the establishment of a super yacht marina with berths available for sale or rent to individuals on the Port Authority's berth waiting list, including small boats.

The advantageous geographic positioning of Gibraltar at the entrance to the Mediterranean from the Atlantic renders the Eastside development well-suited for accommodating a marina tailored for larger vessels, especially superyachts traveling between the Caribbean and the Mediterranean. The marina is planned to be subdivided into different areas or 'zones,' each characterized by unique features and catering to specific user groups.

The marina is designed to include between 550 to 600 berths, ranging from six metres to over 100 metres, from small boats to superyachts. It would also include a fuel berth and a modest boatyard facility. - Plans filed for Eastside include apartments, marina, public car park, hotel & botanical gardens | GBC - Gibraltar News - GBC TV and Radio Gibraltar
