The Spanish government has authorised a contract for the acquisition of 27 SiRTAP remotely piloted aircraft systems from Airbus on July 26. The SiRTAP is being developed by Airbus Spain and is expected to be delivered to Spain by 2026. The 500 million euro contract encompasses nine systems which will replace the Israeli Searcher drones currently used by Madrid. It is a medium-altitude long-endurance drone designed for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance [ISR] missions. Watch the video to find out why this drone is special for Spain.
