Gibraltar's Unite Health Care Branch To Hold Demonstration Jan 10 – Update NOT TO HOLD

The Branch has voted to hold a demonstration from Casemates Square to Number 6 Convent Place on Monday 10th January 2022 at 4:30 p.m. to fight for:

END unfair contractual employment practices.
STOP political interference in healthcare.
END the long delays to departmental issues across all areas.
PROTECT continuity of care and patient safety.
TACKLE the low morale felt by staff across Health and Care.

Unite postpones Demo over Covid-Covid-Covid.

Unite the Union’s demonstration planned for Monday afternoon has been postponed based on advice from the Director of Public Health, Dr Helen Carter, who said a demonstration of such a size “could cause services to be significantly impacted” by the spread of the Omicron variant in Gibraltar.

The demonstration, which had received wide backing from other unions and community groups, was to protesting against the use of insecure and short-term contracts within the GHA.
