Several residents of the South District have expressed distress after a number of feral chickens were killed in the area by the Alameda Botanic Gardens this week. In response to GBC questions, the Government has confirmed that the chickens were culled by the Department of the Environment and the Environmental Agency, on the grounds that they are unhygienic and a threat to biodiversity.
