Expressions of Interest invited to develop Rosia Bay 'holistically' into public leisure facility

Expressions of Interest have been invited to develop Rosia Bay 'holistically' into a public leisure facility.

For the first time, the invitation also includes an ex-MOD building overlooking the area that has recently been given to the Government.

The preference is for a boutique hotel to go there, together with an information centre on the history of the area. The notice envisages a bathing pavilion and other sea related activities, but there is no mention of a residential development.

There is a two week deadline for outline plans to be submitted to LPS.

Our reporter Katy Docker spoke to residents who use the area regularly as well as Keith Farrel, who spoke on behalf of the Heritage Trust, the Environmental Safety Group, the Ornithological & Natural History Society and the Nautilus Project.
