Every year, the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting brings together top decision-makers from government, business, and civil society to address major global issues and priorities for the year ahead. The Annual Meeting 2024, taking place in Davos, Switzerland, from January 15 to January 19, will primarily focus on exploring the opportunities enabled by the new technologies and their implications on decision-making and global partnership.
Geopolitical fractures, a pervasive cost-of-living crisis, fragile energy and food security, and of course the intensifying climate emergency remain in sharp focus as this year draws to a close.
This insightful video probes the complex and often intricate relationship between Russia and the World Economic Forum in Davos. We explore the reasons behind Russia's notable absence from this influential global stage, a gathering renowned for shaping economic and geopolitical agendas worldwide.
The video begins by examining the historical context of the Russian Federation's interactions with the World Economic Forum and also highlights the role of Ukraine and Zelensky in this international narrative, particularly in the context of recent conflicts and their repercussions on global security and diplomacy. The analysis further extends to the role of influential figures like Klaus Schwab and the impact of their policies on international relations and global governance.

DAVOS: Secretary Blinken Scrambles to Counter Mega Chinese Delegation and Their ‘Charm Offensive’
Americans are scrambling to keep up with Chinese rivals. Besides the political confrontation and military antagonism, now a dizzy Blinken needs to counter the ‘charm offensive’ from Beijing during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
Politico reported: “U.S. diplomats have been so worried about the size and intent of a Chinese delegation in Switzerland this week that they’re trying to arrange a meeting between Secretary of State Antony Blinken with a Swiss official while he’s in the country for the World Economic Forum.”
It would be really bad if Switzerland doesn’t feel valued by the US delegation, right as China is making every effort to get close to them. Blinken will be in Davos only on Tuesday and Wednesday, will hold several meetings, and deliver a public speech to the business and political leaders.
“Chinese Premier Li Qiang, often described as the No. 2 to paramount leader Xi Jinping, is leading the delegation from Beijing. Beijing ‘will have 10 state ministers in attendance’, according to the State Department document, which is dated Jan. 12. ‘Their #2 will have a meeting with Swiss leaders. Amb. [Scott] Miller characterized it as a ‘pseudo state visit.’

Imagine that the world has failed to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and the goals of the Paris Agreement.
Imagine that the planet’s temperature has risen more than 1.5 degrees, causing the degradation of our ecosystems, and that our GDP has fallen by 15 points.
Imagine that fake news and political polarization have reduced the number of democracies. That the advance of digitalization and Artificial Intelligence has not been properly governed and has increased inequality, and expelled millions of people from the labor market.
