The bad weather is set to continue for the next 24 hours at least.
An advisory notice for gale force winds remains in effect until 9am tomorrow. Gusts could reach up to 50 knots over today with mean speeds of 30 to 35 knots.
A new weather advisory notice has also been issued for heavy rain. This came into effect at 6 this afternoon and will remain valid till 6pm tomorrow.
Rain accumulations are expected to exceed 25mm in a six hour period. Travel conditions will be difficult at times. All flights today have been diverted to Malaga.
