Former White House advisor, Juan Verde, has said he is very optimistic about a Gibraltar treaty with the EU, and believes it will open up huge business opportunities for the Rock.
Mr Verde was a trade secretary to the Obama administration, and has also been a campaign advisor for successive Democrat presidential candidates.
He is a board member of the Gibraltar-America Chamber of Commerce, and delivered a talk to the Chamber yesterday analysing geopolitics in the context of what he says are the two most consequential elections in history.
He says he is confident that common sense will prevail on the Gibraltar negotiations.
