Echoing the criticisms of others, Schneider claimed the ceremony celebrates Satan
Schneider is hardly the only person offended by the opening ceremony.
Religious conservatives from around the world decried the segment, with the French Catholic Church's conference of bishops deploring 'scenes of derision' that they said made a mockery of Christianity â a sentiment echoed by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova.
The Anglican Communion in Egypt expressed its 'deep regret' Sunday, saying the ceremony could cause the IOC to 'lose its distinctive sporting identity and its humanitarian message.'
Donald Trump Jr. has also attacked the director's intentions as 'satanic.'
'My mom was an Olympian (Czech Natl Ski Team), and as a kid we would be excited for weeks leading up to the games,' Trump Jr. wrote on X, repeating the debunked false claim that the late Ivana Trump was a member of Czechoslovakia's 1972 Olympic team.
'Now with the ever predictable (& seemingly satanic to me) drag queen opening ceremonies and never ending bs, no one I know even thinks about it beyond maybe watching some highlights,' he continued....

What does men dressed up as parodies of real women have to do with an international sports competition? The mocking of Christianity may be debatable. But what's not debatable is drag shows are, at their core, a sexual fetish on a stage. Cross-dressing has nothing to do with culture, with being gay or straight or tolerance. It's a sexually themed performance designed to arouse and excite people who enjoy men in garish makeup and gaudy clothes, doing their best parody of real women. I ask you - WHY? Why is it so important for this to be brought out of nightclubs and private events and put on display for all, including children, to see? It's not about gay pride or acceptance, since one doesn't have to be gay to crossdress and most gay people don't participate in things like this. This is about mainstreaming a trans agenda, IMO."

Having created a satanic ritual for the Olympic Games opening ceremony, artistic director Thomas Jolly ended as he had begun. The closing ceremony, writes Winston Smith, was a homage to lucifer.
Jolly wanted to âshare a strong message and offer spectators a truly immersive collective journey: a journey into the past, to the origins of the Games, but also into the future, and ultimately to a timeless universeâ during the closing ceremony.
It was in his vision of the future and a timeless universe that the Golden Voyager appeared. As Variety described it: âThe stadium plunged into a post-apocalyptic atmosphere as the lights switched off and the futuristic set lit up intermittently. As was explained during the broadcast, Jolly envisioned a dystopian future where the Olympic Games had disappeared, only to be reborn when a Golden Voyager visits.â
It wasnât only the Olympic Games that had disappeared. Jolly envisioned a grim future where no humans existed and the Golden Voyager landed on a dark, desolate, formless mass devoid of any life.
Some reported that the eerie character was, according to the creators, inspired by several references from Franceâs historical heritage, starting with the Spirit of the Bastille. No specifics regarding the several references from French heritage have been given. The only specific mentioned is the Spirit of the Bastille, which is also called âGĂ©nie de la LibertĂ©â or âGĂ©nie de la Bastilleâ, a bronze gilded statue cast in 1836 by Auguste Dumont. This allegorical statue represents liberty and surmounts the July Column, located in the centre of the Place de la Bastille in Paris.
Jollyâs closing ceremony in no way represented liberty or the Spirit of the Bastille, apart from the bronze/gold colour. The Golden Voyager looks like a golden skeleton with insect antennae protruding from its skull and shredded wings on its back.
Others reported the Golden Voyager was inspired by the Voyagerâs Golden Record, a gold-plated copper record containing sounds and images of human life, sent into space by France in 1977.
The golden figure of death very obviously doesnât represent the Spirit of the Bastille nor the Voyagerâs Golden Record, even with a great deal of imagination.
If youâre still none the wiser about what actually inspired Jolly to create the Golden Voyager landing on a barren mass that was once the Earth teeming with life, youâre not alone. However, in the following, Winston Smith offers his explanation.
