14 new RGP recruits sworn in as Police Constables

14 new recruits have been sworn in as constables in the Royal Gibraltar Police.

Nine men and five women swore their allegiance to the RGP and King Charles, and were granted their police powers by a Magistrate.

When they complete their training, they will join a response team for a two-year probation period.

Three Gibraltar Defence Police and two Royal Falkland Islands Police officers are also in the RGP training school.

The RGP says the recruits come from a wide range of backgrounds, including the military, the GHA and the financial industry; another recruit was a professional chef.
