An Iranian hardliner has warned Donald Trump to "bring enough coffins" if the US wages all-out war with the country. Ebrahim Rezaei, a spokesperson for the Iranian parliament's national security commission, said Tehran was "not willing to bury the bodies of American soldiers on the pure soil of Iran" following US strikes on three nuclear sites early on Sunday morning. Citing the use of US B-2 bombers in the campaign to destroy Iran's nuclear programme, Rezaei added: "Bring a sufficient number of coffins with you, along with the B-2."
The attack could signal a turning point in the Iran-Israel conflict, with Iranian authorities previously pledging to retaliate if Donald Trump's administration increased its involvement in the war. While world leaders responded to the strikes by calling for diplomacy, hardliners including the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned of retaliation "beyond enemy calculations".
