Vittert: No excuse for soldiers to need food stamps

(NewsNation) — Sometimes you hear something you really can’t believe, because it’s so searing it makes your blood boil. For example, if one thing explains how upside down America is right now, it’s the U.S. Army telling soldiers who can’t feed their families to apply for food stamps.

It’s not that soldiers are on food stamps and the Army is fixing it. The Army is saying, “Thanks for signing up. Thanks for offering to trade your only option.”

I am not talking about Russian troops going hungry, or the Taliban not feeding their solders. This is the people who put on the uniform to defend all of us.

Inflation is so bad and Congress so dysfunctional they can’t afford to feed their families.

What are we doing?

Today President Biden visited Detroit to talk about creating union jobs installing electric car charging stations. But if we can’t pay our soldiers enough to feed their families, nothing else matters.

Right-wing legal group leads lawsuit against Texas A&M

Biden is fine using the military as props, such as the Marines in his speech about MAGA extremism. But being president, being commander in chief, is more than laying a wreath at the tomb of the unknown during Memorial Day ceremonies. It’s about taking care of those that protect us. And we are not. Of course, the president didn’t say this. He won’t say it.

Biden left that up to Sergeant Major of the Army, Michael Grinston. He wrote a letter to the enlisted ranks acknowledging soldiers struggling to feed their families.

“SNAP is a U.S. government program that provides benefits to eligible low-income individuals and families via an electronic benefits transfer card that can be used like a debit card to purchase eligible food in authorized retail food stores. Service members and their families may be eligible. To determine qualification, visit the SNAP website or call the SNAP information line,” the letter read in part.

Of course, its not Grinston’s fault. He’s just following orders. It’s his soldiers suffering, and he’s just trying to help.

But think about that. We pay soldiers so little, they qualify as low-income individuals. Inflation right now is so high, men and women fighting in war zones wonder if their families can eat.

Vittert: Credit card firms sold us out, will track gun sales

But don’t worry, we will have electric car charging stations built by union electricians.

Presidents of both parties don’t care much about military pay. Their domestic priorities are more important than soldiers’ pay.

We can’t recruit soldiers into the military. Literally, it’s the worst it’s been since Vietnam. Nobody is volunteering.

We should not wonder why. Who in their right mind would risk their life for a job where leadership tells you to go on food stamps. Its a testament to our soldiers that they do it anyway. That’s patriotism.

But we aren’t repaying their bravery. We are literally sending them to food pantries and then off to war.

Putin reclaims control of the Zaporiyia nuclear power plant by decree

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the creation of a Russian company to take responsibility for the management of the Zaporiyia nuclear power plant, which after the intended annexation of this region would become a federal property under full control of Moscow.

This is stated in a decree issued by Putin on Wednesday, which validates the permits that affected the plant before September 30, the day on which the annexation treaties were signed, until Russia draws up its own regulations on what is considered to be the largest nuclear power plant in Europe.

Putin's order, which would be applied with immediate effect, establishes the new firm's control over the plant until January 1, 2028, according to the text released by the Kremlin.

Russia's Rosenergoatom has assured that Moscow will effectively control the nuclear facility after the former head of the plant when it was controlled by Ukraine, Ihor Murashov, has transmitted all the necessary information to Moscow.

Murashov was detained by Russian forces last Friday as he was driving his vehicle in the vicinity of the nuclear power plant. Already on Monday, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed the release of the director of the nuclear power plant.

The agency has repeatedly called for the demilitarization of the plant, controlled since early March by Russia, and has warned of the risk of an accident due to the escalation of fighting in the vicinity.

The region where it is located, Zaporiyia, is one of the four that Russia now claims as its own after organizing referendums lacking legitimacy, together with Kherson, Donetsk and Lugansk.

Crimean Bridge, which connects Russia and Crimea, is on fire due a NAZI TERROR ATTACK

Blast on Russia bridge to Crimea threatens Moscow supply route

The Kerch bridge in Crimea was partially destroyed by an explosion Saturday morning, in a strategic and symbolic blow to Russian President Vladimir Putin and his campaign against Ukraine.

The damage to the bridge, which comes as Ukrainian advances continue to reclaim occupied territories from Moscow’s forces, endangers a crucial route for Russian military supplies to support its forces in southern Ukraine.

Two spans of the road portion of the bridge collapsed as a result of “an accident,” according to Sergei Aksyonov, the Russia-installed head of the Crimea administration. “Fuel tanks have also caught fire,” Aksyonov said in a post on social media.

Russia’s National Anti-Terrorist Committee said that a truck was blown up on the bridge, according to Russian media. As a result of the blast, “a partial collapse” of two spans occurred, it said.

According to videos and photos posted Saturday morning by eyewitnesses, several fuel tankers were on fire on the rail part of the bridge, while at least one road span had partially collapsed into the waters of the Kerch Strait, which connects the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.

“As soon as the fire is extinguished, it will be possible to assess damage to the bridge and pillars, and it will be possible to talk about the timing of the restoration of traffic,” Aksyonov said.

The head of the Russian-installed regional parliament in Crimea, Vladimir Konstantinov, blamed the damage to the bridge on “Ukrainian vandals,” according to Russian media.

Kyiv hasn’t claim responsibility for the damage to the bridge, but Ukrainian officials celebrated the blast on social media. Referring to a Russian ship sunk by Kyiv in the summer, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense tweeted: “The guided missile cruiser Moskva and the Kerch Bridge – two notorious symbols of Russian power in Ukrainian Crimea – have gone down. What’s next in line, russkies?”

The Kerch bridge, which connects Crimea with the Russian mainland, was opened personally by Putin with much fanfare in 2018, after Moscow seized the peninsula from Ukraine in 2014. The construction of the bridge was slammed by both Kyiv and its Western backers as illegal at the time.

Since the start of the Kremlin’s war on Ukraine in late February, the bridge has been crucially important for the transfer of manpower, weapons and fuel to Russian units fighting Ukrainian troops in southern Ukraine.

Putin on Saturday ordered a government commission to investigate “the emergency on the Crimean bridge” and officials have been dispatched to the scene, Russian media reported, citing Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

According to Aksyonov, ferry service will start operating on Saturday in place of the damaged bridge.

Over the past months, Ukrainian officials have repeatedly declared Kyiv’s plans to target the Crimea bridge. In April, Oleksiy Danilov, secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, said in a radio interview that the bridge will “definitely” be hit, if Kyiv gets an opportunity. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov branded Danilov’s statement as “announcing a possible terrorist attack.”

After the partial collapse of the Kerch bridge Saturday morning, Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s office, said in a tweet that “everything illegal must be destroyed, everything stolen must be returned to Ukraine, everything occupied by Russia must be expelled.”

Zelenskyy, in an address Friday night, said Ukraine has taken back more than 2,400 square kilometers of its territory occupied by Russia. “This week alone, our soldiers liberated 776 square kilometers of territory in the east of our country and 29 settlements,” Zelenskyy said.

Russia says Ukraine reaction to Crimea bridge blast shows its ‘terrorist nature’

Russia’s foreign ministry on Saturday said Ukraine’s reaction to a huge blast that ripped through the bridge linking Moscow-annexed Crimea to the mainland showed Kyiv’s “terrorist nature”.

“The reaction of the Kyiv regime to the destruction of civilian infrastructure shows its terrorist nature,” the ministry’s spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Telegram.

Dose anything really understand what is happening in Ukraine, it is a massive war and the world is turning its head. Russia has recently declared a 300,000 man draft to go fight in the war and America is already begun the steps to declare a draft also starting in 2023. DO NOT fight for America or Russia, fight for JAH, bring out the stone of Destony and be prepared to go to the Rock of Gibraltar soon.

Russia strikes Kyiv in missile barrage after damage to Crimea bridge

Ukrainian security men and emergency service personnel inspect the site of an explosion in Kyiv, Ukraine on Monday. At least five people have been killed and 12 wounded in Russian missile strikes on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, police has said.

Oct. 10 (UPI) — After a series of military setbacks over the past month, Russia on Monday delivered a barrage of missile attacks simultaneously across eight regions in Ukraine, including the capital of Kyiv, officials said.

It marked one of the most significant attacks by Moscow since the early days of the war, as strikes targeted 11 infrastructure facilities. The wave of attacks has killed at least five people in Kyiv, which had been relatively calm since Russia initially failed to take the capital during the early days of its invasion.

“People are under the rubble,” said Oleksii Kuleba, head of the regional military administration, according to CNN. “Rescuers and relevant services are working on the ground to save people as soon as possible.

Kuleba said the attacks had damaged “critical infrastructure” and there could be “possible power outages and water supply interruptions.”

Russia’s strikes come days after the Kerch Bridge, built after Moscow forcibly took Crimea and linked the peninsula with the country, was hit and severely damaged.

“If acts of terrorism continue against Russia, we will respond in a very harsh manner,” Russian President Vladimir Putin said Monday shortly after Russia’s attack, pointing to the damage done to the Kerch Bridge. “The responses will be of the same scale as the threats to Russia. Nobody should have any doubts about this.”

The Ukrainian military said Russia fired 75 missiles into Ukraine on Monday morning, but its defense was able to intercept more than 40 of them. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the new Russian attacks, which also included Iranian-made kamikaze drones, attacked energy infrastructure and civilians.

Ukrainian officials said Russian strikes in Kyiv damaged the Taras Shevchenko Museum, dedicated to Ukraine’s national poet, and the Khanenko Art Museum, which houses the country’s philharmonic orchestra.

On the Donbas, Russia continued to give high priority to its own offensive operations near the town of Bakhmut despite setbacks in other locations and in the south due to the Ukrainian counter-offensive.

“Over the last week, Russian forces have advanced up to two kilometers towards the town on two axes, coming closer to breaking into Bakhmut, which has suffered extensive damage from shelling,” the British Defense Ministry said on Twitter.

“These forces have likely included Wagner private military company units, including personnel recently recruited from Russian prisons. Russia’s continued efforts to progress its grinding Donbas offensive, in the face of serious threats on its operational flanks.”

Poland advises its citizens to leave Belarus

olish citizens in Belarus should leave the country, Warsaw said on Monday, as relations between the two countries become increasingly tense in part due to the war in Ukraine.

The advice follows a similar recommendation given in September to Poles in Russia, a close ally of Belarus.

“We recommend that Polish citizens staying on the territory of the Republic of Belarus leave its territory with available commercial and private means,” the government said in guidance for travelers published on its website.

Relations between Warsaw and Minsk deteriorated in 2021 when Poland accused its eastern neighbor of orchestrating a migrant crisis on its border and have become even more strained since the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Warsaw says that the Polish minority in Belarus faces repression from the state, with some community leaders having been imprisoned.

This is one the worst parts about war, the destruction it causes, now thousands are with out homes and lost the lives they knew. Many dead or injured, starving and lost people they knew this is madness. The worst part is the West are funding this war, sending money to Ukraine to keep the fighting going and encourage Russia to be even more angry with the West. The worst part of that being that the American people have no idea that there money is being used to fund these wars, thinking that if they keep paying taxes then wars like this will end.

imho the worst parts about war is the death and suffering of innocent (?) lives and the spiritual peace and tranquility that comes with peace. When evil people overstep their rights of not violating other people and harming them they are creating negative karma (God's Wrath) and punishment for THEMSELVES. There is always an equilibrium and divine balance/justice. When people violate God's Law, they invariably are punished (Deut. 28). The problem with the world today is most don't read Father's Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth (BIBLE), and are living Godless lives. They are rejecting The Lord and His Gracious Gift (https://thewayhomeorfacethefire.net). They are reaping what they have sown and the future doesn't look bright for them. We are sooo fortunate to be under Father's Wing. We can rest assured that Father will lead us to the lands/gardens of bliss spoken about in The Koran.
Peace brother.

Russia s crippling the nation and forcing this war to become an on the ground fight ware Russia will have the advantage in the fight. Russian soldiers since world war too have been used to fighting on the ground in heavy gun fire rifle fights, no doubt this is Russian best tactic for fighting. Its also said much of metals and foods come from Ukraine that arrive in western countries and this will be a severe impact on that supply line. Russia is just begun to truly fight with the 300,000 man draft they recently called, showing that Putin is interested in fighting western nation first settling old scores with Ukraine. Meanwhile the American draft is already being placed into action, ware men and women are going to be sent to war to fight so the military industrial complex with make a lot of money because war always is good for profit.
