Russian Deputy Security Council President Dmitry Medvedev arrived in Pyongyang for a visit to North Korea, Tass reported on Wednesday.
His visit to the country came at the invitation of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), North Korea's ruling party's highest organ. During his visit, Medvedev will participate in the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the WPK's founding. "Time marches on. Friends stay together. Enemies tremble," Medvedev wrote on X, sharing the video of his arrival.
The visit comes amid strengthening bilateral ties between Russia and North Korea, with the latter country supporting the Russian war effort in Ukraine with weapons and volunteers.
