This Broadcast on Trump’s Inauguration Illuminates the Background to the Attack on Iran
US President Donald Trump declared on February 28, 2026 that the United States had launched attacks on Iran together with Israel. The aim is to destroy Iran's missile and military capabilities, prevent the acquisition of nuclear weapons and ultimately overthrow the regime. As a reminder: "I’m not going to start wars, I’m going to stop wars," Trump said during the 2024 election campaign. And on June 5, 2025, the White House announced: "Iran's nuclear facilities have been destroyed - other claims are fake news." Already in the broadcast on January 18, 2025 for Trump's inauguration, KLATV had several voices speaking who predicted an attack on Iran and explained the background and Trump’s role. Thomas Massie failed. Buried inside the $1.15 trillion NDAA is a provision that would permanently fuse the U.S. and Israeli militaries. Congress passed a resolution ordering the president to end the Iran war, and the war hasn't stopped. Section 219 of the House NDAA — previously Section 224 — would create a permanent "U.S.-Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative," embedding Israeli defense industry inside U.S. military programs of record in a way critics say would be nearly impossible to unwind, and would shield the relationship from the annual appropriations process entirely. A bipartisan Massie-Khanna amendment to strip it couldn't even get a floor vote. In the Senate, Democrats including Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and Chris Van Hollen blocked the whole defense bill over it — and over an unauthorized war Congress already voted to end.
