More of the "Stop Oil Agenda"

Youth Demand describes itself as a campaign calling for an arms embargo on Israel, as well as for the Government to revoke all new oil and gas licences granted since 2021.

Four men arrested after allegedly trespassing at Rishi Sunak’s home

Four men have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated trespass at the Prime Minister’s constituency home in Yorkshire.

The group were arrested by police officers in the grounds of Rishi Sunak’s home in Kirby Sigston, near Northallerton, at around 12.40pm today before being escorted off the property, North Yorkshire Police said.

Those detained included a 52-year-old from London, a 43-year-old from Bolton, a 21-year-old from Manchester, and a 20-year-old from Chichester.

In a statement the force said the men were detained “within one minute of them entering the grounds” and they are now being held in custody.

The arrests came before a video was released by protest group Youth Demand showing a young man entering the Prime Minister’s property and defecating in a lake.

The group said the action was a “parting gift” for the Prime Minister and the Conservative Government.

In a press release, the group identified the man in the video as Oliver, 21, a student from Manchester, and included a statement from him.

It read: “We have so much to thank the Tories for: from crumbling schools, shit in the rivers and a collapsing NHS; to creating a nation with more food banks than McDonalds and 4.3 million UK children living in poverty.

“From allowing their mates to get filthy rich from selling weapons to battle-test on toddlers in Gaza, or by drilling for more oil as the world burns – it’s quite a legacy!”

Earlier today a car crashed into entrance gates of Mr Sunak’s official country residence, Chequers, in Buckinghamshire shortly after midday.

Thames Valley Police said a white Volkswagen Scirocco hit the barriers at the entrance and the driver, a 44-year-old man from the county, was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and drink driving.

In a statement the force said: “While we are still in the very early stages of our investigation, there is currently no evidence to suggest there was any intention to harm anyone.”

The force said nobody else was in the car and Mr Sunak was not at either property at the time because he has been attending events linked to the Japanese state visit in London.

Earlier this year the Prime Minister criticised the group after it staged a demonstration outside Labour leader Keir Starmer’s home.

The demonstrators hung a banner outside Sir Keir’s house that read: “Starmer stop the killing” surrounded by red hand prints”

In August last year four Greenpeace protesters were arrested and charged with criminal damage after allegedly climbing on to the roof of Mr Sunak’s home in Kirby Sigston.

Bankruptcy trustee discloses plan to shut down Alex Jones’ Infowars and liquidate assets

In an “emergency” motion filed Sunday in Houston, trustee Christopher Murray indicated publicly for the first time that he intends to “conduct an orderly wind-down” of the operations of Infowars’ parent company and “liquidate its inventory.” Murray, who was appointed by a federal judge to oversee the assets in Jones’ personal bankruptcy case, did not give a timetable for the liquidation.

Military horses bolt through central London AGAIN after being spooked by a bus - just two months after Household Cavalry horses went on blind-panic rampage through the capital

Military horses have bolted through central London on a blind-panic rampage once again after losing their riders.

The incident happened around Knightsbridge when six horses from the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment were conducting a routine exercise under the control of five soldiers.

The lead horse, which was being led rather than ridden, became loose after being spooked by a London bus. This then led to two riders being unseated from their horses, who also became loose.

It comes after three Household Cavalry horses were left covered in blood after bolting through London in April.

China badminton player, 17, dies of cardiac arrest after collapsing on court

An "outstanding" 17-year-old Chinese badminton player died of cardiac arrest after collapsing on court during a tournament in Indonesia, officials said on Monday (Jul 1).

Zhang Zhijie was suddenly taken ill during a match late Sunday against Japan's Kazuma Kawano at the Asia Junior Championships in Yogyakarta.

The score was 11-11 in the first game when Zhang fell to the floor between points.

The teenager received treatment at the venue and was rushed to hospital by ambulance, but passed away later that night after repeated efforts to resuscitate him failed.

"Medical conclusions ... indicated that the victim experienced sudden cardiac arrest," Broto Happy, spokesman for the Badminton Association of Indonesia (PBSI), told a press conference in Yogyakarta.

Zhang's parents were heading to the city to retrieve his body, he said.

The spokesman defended the actions of medical staff and local organisers after footage showed what appeared to be a hesitant response to the teenager falling face down on the court.

He said that medical teams had to wait for the referee to let them on the court.

"The world of badminton has lost a talented player," Badminton Asia and the PBSI said in a statement.

Zhang started playing badminton in kindergarten and joined China's national youth team last year.

Earlier this year he won the singles title at the Dutch Junior International, a prestigious youth tournament.

China's badminton association said it was "deeply saddened".

"Zhang Zhijie loved badminton and was an outstanding athlete of the national youth badminton team," the CBA said in a statement.

The team tournament held a moment's silence on Monday and the Chinese team wore black armbands as a mark of respect before the competition carried on. China beat Taiwan 3-0.

India's PV Sindhu, who has won Olympic silver and bronze, called Zhang's death "absolutely heartbreaking".

"I offer my deepest condolences to Zhang's family during this devastating time," Sindhu, who was not at the tournament, wrote on X.

"The world has lost a remarkable talent today."

Governing body the Badminton World Federation said it was "saddened by the loss of emerging badminton talent Zhang Zhijie.

"We offer our deepest condolences to his family, his teammates, to the Chinese Badminton Association, and the entire Chinese badminton community," it said in a statement.
