Ice Age Farmer:

We are staring down the barrel of a confluence of several scenarios--each of which individually is a significant, life-changing event--but which are together conspiring is a dangerous and incendiary situation: food shortages, inflation, and a breakdown of the supply chain. A new media narrative today acknowledges food shortages, and blames animal agriculture, indicating we are reaching an inflection point in the collapse. Expect things to accelerate from here.

Food Shortage Interview — Ice Age Farmer & Bear Independent

Posted on April 3, 2021Food Freedom

By Bear Independent

Today on the Bear Independent show, Bear is chatting with Ice Age Farmer about food shortage.

https://www.sgtreport.com/2021/02/food-shortages-guaranteed-under-biden-regime/

In the United States, the local farmers, it seems, are being squeezed out of business, or paid not to grow food, while Big Agriculture is more concerned with exporting its supplies than keeping domestic food stocks safe and affordable.

In an effort to fight two wars at the same time – against a pandemic as well as purported climate change – the Biden administration risks putting the United States on a crash course with food shortages and soaring prices as early as this year.

TRUTH LIVES on at https://sgtreport.tv/

Sealed up inside of his White House fortress, surrounded by a ring of steel and thousands of National Guardsmen, U.S. President Joe Biden has been busy signing off on a raft of executive orders without the nuisance of democratic debate and congressional prattling.

One of those presidential actions envisions the conservation of 30 percent of the nation’s lands and waters over the next decade. Where will all of that protected land come from? Perhaps from Bill Gates, who now owns the deed to most of the farmland in the nation? Doubtful.

The answer is from small, independent farmers, whose agricultural activities, the Democrats say, are responsible for 10 percent of the manmade greenhouse emissions purportedly frying up the planet.

And when it is not buying regular corn supplies, China is buying up massive amounts of U.S. ethanol, the corn-based biofuel. The Asian economic powerhouse has bought “roughly 200 million gallons” of ethanol for the first half of 2021, matching its previous record for annual imports of the corn-based biofuel, Archer Daniels Midland Co Chief Financial Officer Ray Young told Reuters.

Europe braces for food shortages due to Ukraine-Russia conflict

Monday, March 07, 2022 by: [Ethan Huff]

(Natural News) After it was announced that wheat exports from both Russia and Ukraine have now ceased, the European Union’s agricultural ministers held an emergency meeting to activate what they are calling a “Food Crisis Contingency Mechanism.”

Since the heads of many European countries expect widespread food shortages due to the war, they are trying to get ahead of it by coming up with alternative sources (assuming there are any).

Ice Age Farmer discusses this in greater depth in the video below:

One-third of the world’s grains, just to be clear, come from the Black Sea region near Russia and Ukraine. Cutting off exports from this area will have a devastating impact on the global food supply, in other words.

“Already there are animal feed producers in South Korea who are declaring force majeure,” Ice Age Farmer warns.

“In other words, ‘we know we had sold you this food for your animals, but we can’t give it to you now, even though you’re depending on it, because we can’t get the corn that we had bought from Ukraine and from that Black Sea region.'”

Europe’s “Green Deal” from years ago laid groundwork for engineered destruction of food supply due to Russia-Ukraine conflict

Not only is the Black Sea region a “breadbasket” for Europe, supplying feed for both humans and animals, but it is also where much of the world’s fertilizer is produced.

Ireland depends on Russia for 25 percent of its fertilizer, as one example of this.

Ice Age Farmer says that all of this was engineered many years ago, in part under the EU’s so-called “Farm to Fork” scam, which is basically the takeover of Europe’s food supply under a “Green Deal.”

Baby Formula Maker Says It Could Take Weeks to Get Product in Stores Amid Widespread Shortage

A leading baby formula maker said that it could take at least two months to get its product back in stores amid a historic shortage of formula that has triggered panic nationwide.

Several months ago, Abbott Laboratories, was forced to close down its plant in Sturgis, Michigan, after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said its facility was unsanitary. That was triggered by an FDA investigation into the deaths of two infants allegedly caused by certain baby formula products that were contaminated by bacteria.

In a new statement Wednesday, Abbott, which is the leading producer of baby formula, said that it could start up its Sturgis site “within two weeks,” but it stressed that by the time the facility is back online, it would take some six to eight weeks before more of its products make it to supermarket shelves around the United States.

“We understand the situation is urgent—getting Sturgis up and running will help alleviate this shortage,” the company said in a statement Wednesday.

The plant has been shut down since February when Abbott issued a voluntary recall after complaints were made about babies becoming sick, including the two aforementioned deaths.

“Subject to [FDA] approval, we could restart the site within two weeks,” Abbott’s statement added. “We would begin production of EleCare, Alimentum, and metabolic formulas first and then begin production of Similac and other formulas. From the time we restart the site, it will take six to eight weeks before product is available on shelves.”

Abbott, meanwhile, emphasized in its statement that the bacteria—Cronobacter sakazakii—was found in environmental testing sites and was not linked to any known illness. When the FDA tested samples of Abbott formula in the states where the four sickened babies lived, all unopened containers tested negative for the cronobacter. Three open containers that were found at the homes of those infants also tested negative, said Abbott.

“The infants consumed four different types of our formula made over the course of nearly a year and the illnesses took place over several months in three different states,” the firm said.

The statement said Abbott is working to improve its protocols and systems at the Sturgis plant, including improving training and safety employees for employees as well as cleaning and maintenance procedures. It will also make upgrades to the plant by installing nonporous, easily cleanable, and sanitary floors.

Research company Datasembly said that 43 percent of baby formula supply is currently out of stock around the United States. At the same time, parents of infants have, in recent days, repeatedly expressed concerns on social media about the apparent dearth of baby formula products and have called on federal officials to take immediate action.

The Epoch Times has contacted the FDA for comment.

G-7 warns of global food crisis from Russian ‘wheat war’ in Ukraine

by tts-admin | May 15, 2022

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock at the G7 meeting

Associated Press – May 14, 2022

The foreign ministers of the Group of Seven leading economies vowed Saturday to reinforce Russia’s economic and political isolation and tackle what Germany’s foreign minister described as a “wheat war” being waged by Moscow as they warned that the war in Ukraine is stoking a global food and energy crisis which threatens poor countries and urgent measures are needed to unblock stores of grain that Russia is preventing from leaving Ukraine.

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, who hosted a meeting of top G-7 diplomats, said the war had become a “global crisis.”

She said up to 50 million people, particularly in Africa and the Middle East, would face hunger in the coming months unless ways are found to release Ukrainian grain, which accounts for a sizable share of the worldwide supply.

In statements released at the end of the three-day meeting on Germany’s Baltic Sea coast, the G-7 pledged to provide further humanitarian aid to the most vulnerable.

“Russia’s war of aggression has generated one of the most severe food and energy crises in recent history which now threatens those most vulnerable across the globe,” the group said.

“We are determined to accelerate a coordinated multilateral response to preserve global food security and stand by our most vulnerable partners in this respect,” it added.

Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly said her country, another major agricultural exporter, stands ready to send ships to European ports so Ukrainian grain can be brought to those in need.

“We need to make sure that these cereals are sent to the world,” she told reporters. “If not, millions of people will be facing famine,” she added.

Russia dismissed the claim that it was responsible for worsening global hunger and driving up food prices.

“Prices are rising because of sanctions imposed by the West under pressure of the U.S.,” said Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova. “Failure to understand this is a sign either of stupidity or intentional misleading of the public,” she added.

The G-7 nations also called on China not to help Russia, including by undermining international sanctions or justifying Moscow’s actions in Ukraine.

Beijing should support the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, and not “assist Russia in its war of aggression,” they said.

The G-7 urged China “to desist from engaging in information manipulation, disinformation and other means to legitimize Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine.”

The grouping, which comprises Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States, also reiterated its stance that the territories seized by Russian forces need to be returned to Ukraine.

“We will never recognize borders Russia has attempted to change by military aggression,” they said.

The meeting in Weissenhaus, northeast of Hamburg, was billed as an opportunity for officials to discuss the broader implications of the war for geopolitics, energy and food security, and ongoing international efforts to tackle climate change and the pandemic.

In a series of closing statements, the G-7 nations also addressed a wide range of global problems from the situation in Afghanistan to tensions in the Middle East.

On Friday, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba appealed to friendly countries to provide more military support to Kyiv and increase the pressure on Russia, including by seizing its assets abroad to pay for rebuilding Ukraine.

Kuleba said his country remains willing to talk to Russia about unblocking grain supplies stuck in Ukraine’s silos and also about reaching a political agreement to end the war itself, but had so far received “no positive feedback” from Moscow.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said in an interview published Saturday that he had not detected any change in Putin’s stance recently.

Scholz, who spoke at length by phone with the Russian leader Friday, told German news portal t-online that Putin had failed to achieve the military objectives he set out at the start of the war while losing more Russian soldiers than the Soviet Union did during its decadelong campaign in Afghanistan.

“Putin should slowly begin to understand that the only way out of this situation is through an agreement with Ukraine,” Scholz was quoted as saying.

One idea discussed at the G-7 meeting was whether Russian state assets frozen abroad can be used to pay for the reconstruction of Ukraine.

“Russia bears responsibility for the massive damage resulting from this war,” Baerbock said. “And that’s why it’s a question of justice that Russia should have to pay for this damage,” she reasoned.

But she added that, unlike in Canada – where legislation allows for seized funds to be repurposed – the legal basis for doing so in Germany is uncertain.

“But that’s precisely what such meetings are for, to have an exchange about how to resolve these legal questions,” Baerbock said.

Many of the foreign ministers traveled straight on to an informal meeting of NATO diplomats in Berlin on Saturday and Sunday.

That gathering will consider moves by Finland and Sweden to join the military alliance amid concerns about the threat from Russia, as well as ways in which NATO can support Ukraine without being drawn into the conflict.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who was unable to attend the G-7 meeting after recovering from a COVID-19 infection, was expected at the NATO gathering.

Crop Declines Visible On Satellite Imagery Everywhere EXCEPT Russia And China

Infrared satellite imagery from the entire globe is showing massive crop declines everywhere, except in Russia and China. These images suggest that staple crops such as wheat are in poor condition and in sharp decline among major exporters including Ukraine, the United States, and India.

If you have been unconcerned about a food shortage or a possible war with Russia and/or China, now is the time to perhaps reevaluate. As ZeroHedge reported, it is hard to say which governments and institutions monitor this data, but a few months ago a multitude of political leaders and global banks issued simultaneous warnings of a “global food shortage” and an impending crisis. Such institutions included the International Monetary Fund, World Bank, the BIS, and even the White House. So far, a perfect storm of stagflation, supply chain disruptions, and poor weather conditions have combined to disrupt food production around the world.

Russia and China, on the other hand, are enjoying a strategic advantage when it comes to being able to feed their populations.

As we entered the spring of this year, the mainstream media heralded the end of the Russian economy and the swift collapse of their war efforts in Ukraine. Today, Russia is selling more oil and exporting more commodities than ever before, and both Russia and China now have the most healthy staple crops in the world. It’s almost as if the public in the west has been deliberately misled about our economic strength. –ZeroHedge

The food shortages are becoming obvious, and crop failures are mounting. That means prices will continue to rise as shelves get more and more empty.

PREPPING FOR THE UPCOMING GOVERNMENT-INDUCED FOOD SHORTAGES

This also had major implications if the West continues to provoke a war with Russia. The temptation for the Eastern nations to use food as a weapon against NATO countries will be just as high on their list as using oil and gas withholding as a weapon. With food and energy stability in doubt, there is also a considerable danger of civil unrest in parts of the world where people are going to experience a dramatic decline in their standard of living, such as in the U.S.

Third-world nations are likely to see the worst of the shortages, but price inflation in necessities is here to stay for first-world countries as well. And along with that comes all the associated economic problems, including rising crime, rising unemployment, and rising poverty. Prepare accordingly.

IS CHINA CONTROLLING THE GREAT RESET & MANUFACTURED FOOD SHORTAGES? CHECK THIS OUT!

ALLSHALLBEREVEALED67 August 13, 2022

Is The Food Crisis Over Or Just Getting Started?

Are you hungry? Good, according to the central planners.

The folks over at the UN stopped destroying the world for a brief few minutes to publish a piece (snapshot below) justifying their behavior and explaining the “benefits” of the famine they’ve engineered.

Not making this up.

The article remained on the UN website for a day or so before being deleted after it went viral on social media, with people horrified at the truly unbelievable evil. The good thing about this is that as they continue with their predictive programming and NLP (seriously, look into both and it promises to blow your mind), more and more people wake from their trance. Once woken, they realize the incredible danger they are all in. And that is a good thing because you can’t fight an enemy until you understand one exists.

The “great reset” requires a populace beholden to the government and nobody else. As the central planners pursue their agenda of getting there, this is bound to be fraught with an awakening and a lot of angst.

The Great Awakening of the Average Joe

While Joe Sixpack doesn’t understand most of these, he doesn’t actually need to.
What Joe does care about is when he can’t afford groceries and when his electricity bill now suddenly wipes out his entire annual disposable income.

And that is enough to provide both pushback and an increasing ability to awaken to the horrors of what comes for him if this communist agenda masquerading as a plan to “save us from climate change” is NOT stopped in its tracks.

And with this realization will come politicians — many who themselves are parasites but doing what comes naturally to them: sensing a shift in the winds and rushing to get in front of it, champion it, and gain support.

Here, take a look. According to France24, Giuseppe Conte, the head of Five Star, said:

I have a strong fear that September will be a time when many families will face the terrible choice of paying their electricity bills or buying food. We are absolutely willing to dialogue, to make our constructive contribution to the government, to Draghi, (but) we are not willing to write a blank cheque.

He’s not wrong, of course, but this is a thug who was a massive contributor to the problems our proverbial “Joe” now faces.

image

And as we’ve been continuously saying: energy underpins EVERYTHING. Which is why Eurozone CPI looks like it just mainlined viagra.

3_118

And this is saying something because as you know the way they measure CPI is, of course, complete hogwash and roughly half the real rate. Check out John Williams’ Shadowstats, where inflation in the US is calculated based on the methodology used back in the 80’s (pre-fraud). It just hit 17.3%. That’s a tad more than the 9.1% print they just tried to trick you with.

image

The other thing “Joe” cares about is when the government — under the guise of “saving the planet” — begins the process of stealing up to 50% of the farms in the Netherlands.

Reducing Nitrogen Emissions

Under a ridiculous narrative of “reducing nitrogen omissions” the Dutch government are proceeding with a blatant land grab of 30% of the Farmland. It is worth pointing out that air is 78% nitrogen. These morons have literally decided that air is dangerous.

Anyway, the farmers are having none of it and have blockaded roads, airports, and distribution centers. The fishermen have joined in and blocked the ports.

Domestically the Dutch farmers have massive support. Gratefully, people seem to intuitively understand that without them there will be no food. The propaganda is no longer having the desired effect on the populace. What a shame!

Every day a few more people wake to reality, and once you wake, you can’t unsee what you’ve seen. The existing political parties’ credibility is severely damaged. I’ve thought for some years now that if there is to be a shift, it will likely come from third parties. This is true across the Western world, and not uniquely a Dutch thing.

The Farmer–Citizen Movement in the Netherlands is now gaining momentum and size faster than any other.

Over in France, the Marxist agenda gathers momentum.

France plans full nationalization of power utility EDF

France will fully nationalise EDF (EDF.PA), Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne said on Wednesday, in a move that would give the government more control over a restructuring of the debt-laden group while contending with a European energy crisis.

Scum

It is at this point that we should review a little history.

The last head of a European government to be killed and eaten by a mob was Dutch Johan de Witt in 1672, who was mutilated, hung, and had his liver roasted and digested by Orangists in the Hague.

Davos man deserves at least as much.

In the meantime, Europeans are going to be cold and hungry.

Winter is just a few short months away now which brings us to investment implications. The stampede will begin in earnest for food and all those banned products like fertilizer.

Satellite Image Reveals 'Agriculture Wasteland' Across California's Rice Capital

by Tyler Durden

Sunday, Sep 11, 2022 - 11:00 AM

New satellite imagery shows a large swath of California's rice fields has been left barren without harvest as fears of a 'mini dust bowl' emerge due to diminishing water supplies.

Kurt Richter, a third-generation rice farmer in Colusa, the rice capital of California, told San Francisco Chronicle that fields upon fields of the grain have already transformed into a "wasteland."

A report via the US Department of Agriculture shows about 300,000 out of the 550,000 acres committed to rice growing in California will go without harvest. This could potentially drive up sushi prices nationwide because most of the rice produced in the state is for just that.

Source: San Francisco Chronicle

UC Davis agricultural economist Aaron Smith warned the collapse in rice production in the state will translate to an estimated $500 million loss for farmers, about 40% of which will be covered by federal crop insurance.

Satellite imagery service Sentinel Hub shows a satellite view of the farmland in the rice capital this month compared with the same time last year -- only to reveal many fields appear fallow.

Source: San Francisco Chronicle

Richter said rice fields are "abandoned," and a mini dust bowl could emerge west of the Sacramento River in Colusa County. He said this summer's scorching heat and lack of moisture are some of the significant contributors to the area's water shortage.

Not all is lost in the rice capital. In Butte County, green fields can be seen via satellite imagery. San Francisco Chronicle noted, "Butte County farmers planted slightly more acres of rice than last year."

Luis Espino, a farm advisor at UC ANR's cooperative extension in Butte, said water sourcing is critical and is why some rice farms can source more water than others.

Eastside farmers depend on Lake Oroville, which was able to capture more water than Shasta Lake, where the current storage is less than half of the average storage for this time of year.

The farmers in the Sacramento River watershed who rely on water from Shasta, including Richter's family farm operation, are receiving somewhere between 0 and 18% of their water deliveries this year from government-run water projects. Farmers in Butte and Yuba counties received far more — about 75%. -- San Francisco Chronicle

Across the rice capital of six top-producing counties, only two will be unharmed by the mega drought.

Source: San Francisco Chronicle

Ahead of this year's growing season, we pointed out California To Cut Water To Cities And Farmland Amid Persisting Drought. By summer, we noted California's Farmland Rapidly Turns To Dust Amid Water Crisis.

Source: San Francisco Chronicle

As a reminder, the state is responsible for a tremendous amount of US food production -- cutting off water to farmers, leaving tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of acres unworkable, will only exacerbate the food crisis.

This is not a drill. An extremely serious global food crisis has already begun, and I would encourage you to get prepared for what is ahead while you still can.

#2 It is being projected that the rice harvest in California will be “half what it would be in a normal year”.

Shoppers across the country could see food prices rise by 10 per cent as manufacturers grapple with soaring energy costs and a shortage of HGV drivers.

Founder of 2 Sisters Food Group, Ranjit Boparan, warned consumers could soon be hit with a 'great food reset' and said the days when a family could buy a whole chicken for ÂŁ3 were 'coming to an end'.

The poultry boss went on to say that the surge in gas prices, rising inflation and labour issues meant that shoppers were 'looking at a different world from now on' and rising food costs were now 'inevitable'.

His comments come after a survey by the British Chambers of Commerce found nearly two-thirds of UK manufacturers plan to raise their prices in the run-up to Christmas due to rising inflation.

Founder of 2 Sisters Food Group, Ranjit Boparan, said the days when a family could buy a whole chicken for ÂŁ3 were 'coming to an end'

Mr Boparan told The Telegraph: 'In relative terms, a chicken today is cheaper to buy than it was 20 years ago.

'How can it be right that a whole chicken costs less than a pint of beer?

'You're looking at a different world from now on where the shopper pays more.'

The businessman went on to claim that his company's 600 firms and 16 factories had already seen power bills surge by 550 per cent.

Mr Boparan has now urged companies to work with supply chains and customers to 'solve these issues'.

Last week a survey by the British Chambers of Commerce found 62 per cent of industrial firms expect to increase their prices over the next three months - the highest result since data gathering began at the end of the 1980s and far over the previous record of 38 per cent in 2008.

The results suggest families are set for a Christmas crisis of rising costs as they prepare for what is already the most expensive time of the year.

A raft of major companies have warned of inflationary pressures due to labour shortages, rising energy costs and gaps in global supply chains, including Greggs, Hotel Chocolat, and consumer goods giants Unilever and Reckitt.

'Acute supply shortages and rising raw material costs drove an historic surge in inflationary pressures in the third quarter,' said Suren Thiru, the BCC's head of economics.

Greggs published its results last week and warned that despite encouraging sales figures it was facing higher costs due to shortages of staff and food ingredients.

Hotel Chocolat - which has more than a hundred shops in the UK - said prices for customers would rise up to nine per cent over most of its range due to more expensive ingredients, labour and transport.

But while many Britons fear a financial hit, Prime Minister Boris Johnson insisted that he was not worried about rising prices because he believed they will be temporary, and insisted it was 'not his job' to fix every aspect of supply chains in the UK.

Asked about the situation during the Conservative Party conference, he told the BBC: 'Actually I think that people have been worried about inflation for a long time and it hasn't materialised.'

When pressed on the UK's HGV driver shortage he attempted to deflect attention back to the private sector, saying 'it's not the job of government to come in and try and fix every problem in business and industry'.
